REVIEW: GLAMGLOW Thirstymud Hydrating Treatment

My dehydrated skin is the bane of my life! Okay, slight exaggeration there, but it is something that I dis-like & constantly strive to change about my skin. So basically any time I see a product that promises to re-hydrate the skin, I have to have it! Having said that, this product is incredibly expensive for a face mask so I had to do a bit of research before investing. I know that the GLAMGLOW tingling & exfoliating mask was well loved & hyped in the beauty blogging community & therefore the brand has an excellent reputation. This particular mask is designed to rehydrate skin & leave it looking radiant, so it sounded right up my street & any reviews I had read on US sites backed up its claims. Thirstymud sounded perfect for my skin, because its is so damn thirsty & drinks up any moisture I put on it. I pre-ordered as it wasn't due to be released in the UK & Ireland until the end of May & I really wanted to get my hands on it a.s.a.p. Let me tell you, I was NOT disappointed.

First up is the packaging, which GLAMGLOW is renowned for - it is quite big & bulky for the actual size of the pot inside, but it is just so pretty & I suppose makes you feel like you are getting your money's worth! Also, who doesn't love to see this when you open the lid:

Next on to the product itself.
This is designed for both men & women who need hydration in their skin. It can be used as a 10 minute mask in the traditional way after cleansing or as an overnight treatment, which is my preferred method as I want to get as much bang for my buck as I can, given the price! It smells like a holiday in a jar! To me, it is a combination of coconut & honey - I love both scents so its a winner for me. It contains hyaluronic acid and citric acid, both of which help to hydrate the skin, as well as a host of other moisturising ingredients. I first used this as a 10 minute mask because I wanted to use it immediately & I couldn't believe the difference it made to my parched skin! I followed up with my usual serum & moisturiser, but I think that even if I hadn't, my skin would still have been hydrated, radiant & glowy - that is how good this product is!! My make-up just glided on & didn't get cakey or cling to any dry patches, because there were none, thanks to this product!

Now, I tend to use it as an overnight treatment once a week & when I wake up, my skin is so soft & hydrated. I would use it every night if I could afford it! I would think this would be ideal to use on a flight to keep your skin hydrated. I know it is expensive, but believe me when I say that it is worth every penny/cent/whatever your currency. It is also currently on offer on lookfantastic.com, where there is £15 off the RRP & free shipping. I am tempted to buy a back up even though I have not used very much of my current tub. A little goes a long way, so I expect this to last me at least 6 months with using once a week.

If you have deyhdrated skin, do your skin a favour & treat it to this - you will not regret it & your skin will thank you! Your bank balance will thank you if you buy it at the discounted price!

I also have my eye on their Powermud mask, but am unsure of its release date this side of the water! Will keep you posted on that. Please let me know your thoughts on this product & any other hydrating treatments you think I should try!

Thanks for reading!
