REVIEW: Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara

If you read my mascara collection post, you will know that I love a voluminous look on my lashes & when I read Just Julie's post about Better Than Sex Mascara from Too Faced, I knew that I had to get my hands on it. I featured it in my recent haul & have been using it for 2 weeks now & am ready to share my thoughts with you now.

I have tried a mascara from Too Faced before: Lash Injection, which really didn't impress me as it didn't deliver on its promise of volume, length & drama. If I had any worries that this mascara would disappoint too, they faded away as soon as I saw the wand. I've never used a mascara with a wand like this before - it is an hourglass shape (inspired by the shape of a woman's body) and it really gets right into the root of the lashes, ensuring that every lash is coated from root to tip. The colour is a very intense black & it adds a crazy amount of volume to the lashes. This mascara really gives my Holy Grail YSL Mascara a run for its money in terms of the dramatic, voluminous look it delivers.

I wore it every evening when I was away recently & on the very first evening, my Hubby commented on how amazing my lashes looked! At the moment I cannot think of a single negative thing about this mascara - it delivers volume, curl & a false lash effect, is a brilliant black colour, does not smudge, does not make my lashes crispy and doesn't flake. I am hoping it doesn't dry put too quickly so will report back on that.

I'm not crazy about the name - the product is so amazing that it doesn't need to use a cheap name.

Have you tried this mascara?

  1. I've seen people rave about this time & time again but I dunno what it is about the fibre brush. It just looks like I'd have problems using it (I usually do which is why I prefer sticking to plastic). But I guess I can't really talk until I've tried it for myself x

    1. It is honestly so easy to use, but I prefer fibre brushes. You might like the new Tarte mascara as that has a plastic brush.
