REVIEW: Cargo Cosmetics Vintage Escape Fall Eye Shadow Palette

I am self-confessed palette addict. I own more than is necessary, but there are some shadows in each one that I adore, however today's palette is different in that I love every shadow in the palette & use them all! It is from Cargo Cosmetics & is their Vintage Escape Eyeshadow Palette.

It contains 12 shadows: a mixture of matte & shimmer. They are all warm toned & are so buttery soft and easy to blend. They are very pigmented so I only need to barely dab my brush in the shadow to achieve the colour. My favourite combination is crisp and withered leaves, with a little black crow smudged along the lash line. Cinnamon and rustic work beautifully together too. There are so many combinations that can be used for both day and night time looks.

I think if I didn't own any palettes and wanted to invest in just one, this would be the one because the warm tones really suit my green eyes and they are so blendable & non-flakey. It is quite expensive at £35 but in my opinion it is totally worth it & I would prefer it to the naked palettes which are slightly more expensive.

I have not tried anything else from Cargo cosmetics, but am keen to given how much I love this palette. My only gripe is that the packaging is awful. The mirror fell out the first time I opened it & at the opening (magnetic seal), it is coming apart due to it not being glued well enough. I don't know if I just happened to get a dud or if others have had this problem also.

Have you tried any Cargo products?

  1. I haven't tried any eye products from Cargo before (I have a lipgloss from them), but this looks amazing! I like how even the colors look wearable and the brush included with it looks pretty decent! I might ask for this for christmas (or I'll get it for myself soon)!

  2. I've never tried anything from Cargo but I really want to check them out now after staring at this beauty! Shame about the packaging though considering the price! x

    1. The packaging is a big let down, for sure.

  3. I haven't tried any of their products as they're so hard to get hold of! I do like the mixture of shades in this palette, it seems great for a neutral eye with some darker colours for definition :) xx

  4. I saw this palette in Debenhams once and nearly bought it. The shadows are so buttery smooth. It's awful that an expensive palette like this one has such a bad packaging. I would have gone back to complain. Maybe you got a faulty one? x

    1. I bought it from Feel Unique & it was sold out by the time it had arrived so I couldn't get a replacement. The shadows are so beautiful that I thought it was worth keeping despite the dud packaging!

I really love to read your comments & appreciate all of them!
