REVIEW: Louise Young Super Foundation Brush LY34

I had wanted this Louise Young Super Foundation brush for quite a while, so when my Real Techniques Buffing Brush had shed one too many hairs & went to the brush graveyard, I decided to go ahead & purchase this brush. I ordered from Beauty Bay, who had 10% off at the time of ordering so it eased the pain a little as this brush along costs more or less the same as the Real Techniques Core Collection that the Buffing Brush was in.

When it arrived, my first thought was that it was huge! I was slightly scared that I would end up with foundation in my hair & all over the place! My second thought was that it was just so soft - like, seriously soft - much softer than any other foundation brush I have ever owned. Because it is so densely packed, I knew that I didn't have to worry about the fact that it was so soft. It picks up just the right amount of foundation & blends it very evenly & more importantly, quickly, into the skin. I am in love with this brush right now & think I will be for a long time to come. It's only rival, in my eyes, is the Bobbi Brown Full Coverage Face brush, which I will be reviewing in the coming days. However, this brush is cheaper than the Bobbi Brown.

I am now keen to try some more of the Louise Young Brushes, especially the eye brushes.

Have you tried anything from this brand?

  2. This brush sounds amazing, I'm very tempted to try it. But I'm afraid that I love my Beauty Blender too much to be satisfied with a brush. x

  3. I have yet to try the Beauty Blender, but have the Real Techniques version & love it for my concealer. This brush would be better if you're in a rush though, due to its size!

  5. I haven't tried this brand yet, I sort of stick to my rt brushes mainly, although I have wanted to check out the LY eye brushes too :)

  6. I mainly use RT too, but have had my eye on this for years! The Pixiwoo girls used to use it back in the day so have always wanted it!

  7. this looks really nice! I usually use a beauty blender (or a similar sponge) for my foundation, but I'm very intrigued by a brush like this!

  10. I swear we buy the exact same products! I also got this brush the same time as you after watching Anna from Viviannadoesmakeup use it in a lot of videos. I like it but it doesn't always blend my thicker foundations as well as a sponge so I use it for lighter foundations x

  11. I tend to wear quite light foundations - YSL Fusion Ink is my favourite at the minute, so I haven't tried it with a thicker foundation yet - I think the Bobbi Brown brush might be better for like likes of Laura Mercier Silk Creme foundation. We seem to like so many of the same products! xx
