My top 5 bronzers feauring Chanel, Benefit, theBalm, Bobbi Brown and Nars

I've been a fan of bronzers for a long, long time because I love to have a bit of colour in my face & I regularly wear fake tan, but I also use them to contour when I can't be bothered to do the whole cream contour thing! Today, I am sharing my top 5 bronzers with you. They are in no particular order to be honest because I love them all.

The bronzer that I probably reach for the most & has been re-purchased a number of times is Nars Laguna. Although I generally prefer a matte bronzer, this one has a slight shimmer running through it, but it doesn't transfer onto the skin as a glitter, it just adds a glow. It doesn't look orange on the skin and is brilliant for both bronzing & contouring. The powder itself is very creamy & applies very evenly. The packaging is sturdy, but can get grubby very easily due to the rubber casing that most Nars products have. It is quite pricey at €36, but it lasts a long time so it is worth it.

Next up is another classic: Benefit Hoola. I bought this last summer & have really enjoyed using it. It comes with a little brush, which I have never used and it is brilliant for giving a very natural sun-kissed look. Because it is matte, I also use it for contouring and like Laguna, it is a nice buttery texture, so easy to apply & blend. I think this would be perfect for most fair-medium skin tones. At €34, this is not cheap but a little goes a very long way with this.

Another matte bronzer that I tend to use to bronze, rather than contour is Bobbi Brown Bronzing Powder in the shade Golden Light. Don't let the Light in that name fool you, this is quite dark compared to my other bronzers so I tend to wear this most in summer, when I have some natural colour. It is a matte bronze and has a nice buttery texture, which I love. Because of the soft texture, it applies very evenly & looks quite natural. Again, it is not the cheapest at €36, but it is worth the price for the natural look it gives.

The most expensive bronzer I own & the only cream bronzer I own is Chanel Soleil Tan De Chanel. It is €38.50, but you only need the tiniest amount to add some colour to the face. It is a gel/cream hybrid and is brilliant both as a base, before foundation and also as a traditional bronzer, over foundation. I always bring this on holiday because no matter what foundation I bring, the shade can be adjusted using this as the holiday progresses. I adore this product.

The final bronzer I'm sharing is theBalm Bahama Mama. I love the quirky packaging on all of theBalm products and this is no exception. At €20.40, this is the least expensive but the quality is excellent. I love to use this for contouring because it is a nice cool-toned matte powder. Although it looks quite dark, this doesn't translate on to the skin. A big thumbs up from me!

  7. I love my Too Faced Chocolate Soleil bronzer but to be honest I'm so lazy when it comes to bronzing my face, just do it for a special makeup look and never on a daily basis :)
