Worst nail base coat EVER! Poshe Fast Drying Base Coat

I don't like being a Negative Nancy, but sometimes a product comes along that is just so bad, that you don't want other people to waste their hard-earned cash on it & today is one of those days. A little while ago, I needed a new base coat for my nails. I am not loyal to any particular brand in this area & had been using a sample bottle of the Ciate base coat that was in my 2013 Advent Calendar for ages so I just randomly chose one.
It is Poshe Fast Drying Base Coat because I liked the idea of a fast drying base coat & also it reportedly keeps nail polish on for longer. It was only £6.70, so I was pretty happy with that. I noticed after a few times of wearing it that my nails kept breaking. I normally have very healthy, strong, long nails so I couldn't understand what was causing it. I take Coconut Oil & Flaxseed Oil, both of which I find help the condition of my nails but even they weren't working. I finally narrowed it down to the new base coat and within 7-10 days of me not using this base coat, my nails started to grow & become stronger again. I am glad that I figured out the cause & that I obviously hadn't spent too much money on the product, and I immediately threw it in the bin. So, this product gets a massive thumbs-down from me! Am I the only one? Have any of you tried this product?

Please tell me your favourite base coat and nail strengthening formulas?

  1. Oh wow this sounds so bad! Thank you for the heads up. My absolute favourite and one I will forever repurchase is OPI Nail Envy. It's just the best in my opinion, and it makes my nails so strong and long. I always buy the matte version though as for some strange reason, it's always about £4 cheaper than the original! xx

  3. I used to use that! I bought Dr LeWinns Nail recovery set, so when I've finished that I'll repurchase Nail Envy! Thanks for the tip on the matte too! xx

  4. Definitely avoid if you don't want short, stubby nails :-(

  5. I've not tried it. I usually stick to my Sally Hansen's Insta-Dri which works really well. :-)

  6. I actually have that in my stash, so will have to dig it out! I'm giving my nails a break from polish for a while until I can get them into good condition again!
