Empties & speedy reviews #9 featuring Xen Tan, Sarah Chapman, Clarins, L'Occitane & more!

It's empties time again & this time, I feel like I could shed a tear because some of my favourite products are finished - all at the same time! There are no make-up empties - just face & body care products and I'll start with face skincare.

My beloved Sarah Chapman Morning & Overnight Facial bottles are empty (Big sob!). I really enjoyed using these and my skin loved them. They are very expensive at £46 for a mere 15ml, which is quickly used up. I have not yet repurchased either of these, but if I had to choose between them, the Overnight Facial would win & I will definitely repurchase it at some point when I am #feeling spendy!

Staying with skincare, I also finished my big bottle of Clinique Smart Custom Serum. This 100ml bottle has lasted me for about 7 months - sometimes used twice daily, sometimes once daily. I really like this serum because it is designed to answer all of your skin's problems, basically a one product fit all & I found that it really worked. It also helped to fade an area of pigmentation on my cheek that developed when I was on a particular medication that wasn't compatible with sunlight. I did a full review here. I have another serum to use up at the moment, but when that is finished I will repurchase this Clinique serum.

Finally for skincare, I used a single pack of Gatineau Strategie Jeunesse Eye Pads that were in a Lookfantastic box a few months back. I found these to be very soothing & cooling and they really eased the itch that I had in my eye area from using an eyeliner that didn't suit me. They are expensive at £35 for a box of 6, so I probably won't purchase a full size box.

I finished just one haircare item this month & that is the COLAB Dry Shampoo in the London scent. This is just a mini bottle, but I have already repurchased the large size of it because it is the best dry shampoo I have ever used. It doesn't leave your hair looking white & feeling there is lots of product in it.

Now on to body care & as usual, I have finished 2 body lotions because I moisturise my body daily without fail, which means that I fly through these products. Again, I finished a Nivea Express Hydration Body Lotion. I love Nivea body lotions - they are just great value & do the job well. I also used up a small bottle of E45 lotion, which I always rely on for when my skin is feeling extra dry. This does the trick & leaves my skin very soft again. Both will be repurchased.

My favourite shower oil also ran out this month, it is the L'Occitane Almond Shower Oil. This product is just brilliant. It really packs moisture into the skin & it foams without drying the skin out. It also helps that I adore the scent! Will definitely repurchase!

Another favourite that I used up & will repurchase time & time again is Xen-Tan Moroccan Tan. This tan applies very evenly & fades evenly too. It isn't even vaguely orange & smells like vanilla & coconut! BEST TAN EVER!

The very last product that I finished is a hand cream - I fly through hand creams & this is one of my favourites: Clarins Hand and Nail Treatment Cream. I love how moisturising, yet non-greasy this hand cream is and I use it several times daily. I have already repurchased.

So that's all of my empties from this month & I am so sad that some of them are empty because some are pretty pricey & I loved them all! What have you been loving & finishing recently?

Thanks for reading.

  1. Colab dry shampoos are also my current favourites. The scent is great and I love the fact it doesn't leave that horrible white cast. The Sarah Chapman overnight facial is incredible. I alternate my skincare, so mine is lasting me a while. It's very expensive and I will probably try other oils once it runs out because I enjoy trying new products, but it's truly amazing. x
