New foundation! Charlotte Tilbury Light Wonder

I am a huge fan of Charlotte Tilbury - not just her products, but the lady herself. I have always found her very inspiring in any interviews I have read or heard with her and her positivity is infectious. I love & want everything in her collection & already own two of her eyeshadow palettes: Dolce Vita & Golden Goddess, two of her Lip Cheat Lip Pencils in Pillow Talk & Iconic Nude and two of her lipsticks: Velvet Underground and Lost Cherry. I thought that her Filmstar Bronze & Glow would be the next product I would buy because it was been on my wishlist for ages, but I was in the mood for a new foundation, so thought I'd try Light Wonder. Unusually, there is only one foundation in the range so I assume it suits all skin types. For me, it sounded perfect because it is described as having a light as air formula and also as hydrating and illuminating - exactly what I look for in a foundation.

As always, the packaging is very chique. I love the rose gold lid and her CT monogram is on the tube. The tube contains 40ml of product compared to the normal 30ml in most foundations. It contains SPF 15, so not great for flashback in photos but luckily for me, there are no paparazzi chasing me!

The formulation is not as thin as I expected, but not too creamy either - just a traditional liquid foundation. I tested a bit on my hand when I first received it & could immediately see the luminosity described on the box. It just gives the skin a lit from within, radiant look. I like to use my Real Techniques Sponge to apply this because I think it looks the most natural this way. It doesn't give lots of coverage - medium at best, although it is buildable so it is probably best kept for 'pretty good skin' days. This foundation is very comfortable to wear and doesn't feel like you are wearing anything on the skin. I have had a lot of compliments when wearing this foundation - I think it makes me look "well" when I am anything but because I am having a lot of health problems at the moment, but if I can escape them with this tube, then it is worth its weight in gold! This will definitely be my Spring/Summer foundation this year & I am delighted to have added it to my collection.

I'd love to know what your favourite 'your skin, but better' foundation is? What products do you recommend from the Charlotte Tilbury range?

  1. I have been wondering about this foundation as there's not that much hype surrounding it. I actually like the idea of a light coverage and a luminous finish so will definitely have to check it out x

  4. Good idea - it's too expensive to buy if it isn't the right shade! xx

  11. Ok, so Im not a fan of foundation. I prefer something light like a
decent tinted moisturizer and I've been experimenting a little by mixing
a highlighter in to that. Next on my list to try for a nice glow is the
balance me BB cream which I've been recommended but there's also
something attractive sounding about this which is probably the light
coverage with a glow. I'd have to go to a counter tho because of needing
to choose the right shade which is where my laziness will kick in . I'm
    more of an internet shopper.

  12. You're right to go to a counter because it is too expensive to buy & find it is the wrong shade! xx

  13. "but luckily for me, there are no paparazzi chasing me!" this cracked me up, lol... I've been wanting to try this foundation as well, great review! I really like the Guerlain Aqua BB Cream or the Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizers as day-to-day options.

  14. I haven't tried many BB creams or tinted moisturisers - everybody raves about the LM one, so I must try to get a sample! xx
