My first Dior purchase: Diorskin Nude Skin Perfecting Hydrating Concealer

Dior is a brand that I have never bought anything from for some reason. I'm not quite sure why because I have lusted after their bases a few times but just got distracted by another product. I would love to try their Star foundation and am also very intrigued by their Airflash foundation, but I don't need another foundation at the moment so I chose a concealer. I've moaned enough about how dry the skin around my eyes has been for the past few weeks and although I love the Urban Decay Naked concealer, it wasn't sitting right under my eyes.

When I saw Jessica Beautician's post mentioning the Diorskin Nude Skin Perfecting Hydrating Concealer I thought it might be just what I needed.

This concealer is probably the most expensive I own at €33, but Debenhams had 10% off at the weekend, so I decided that if I wanted to try it then this was the time. I like that it comes in a tube, which is more hygienic than dipping an applicator in each time. It is a liquid, which is lightweight but not too watery and it is perfect for the eye area. It blends seamlessly into the skin and covers any dark circles I have without creasing or settling into fine lines. I got the shade 02 Beige, which is a perfect match for my skin. I might get 01 Ivory next time to highlight under my eyes, but at the moment I use MAC Prep & Prime in Light Boost for that, which I am really happy with. I only need a pin head amount for each eye, so although the tube only contains 10ml, it will last a very long time. I was torn between this concealer and Clarins Instant Concealer but I am glad I chose this one because I may just have found my HG concealer!

  5. That's a pity. I hate when foundations disappoint because they are so expensive! xx

  6. I've heard nothing but good stuff about Dior bases, and only tried my first foundation this week! Looking forward to testing it.

My pick of the Dior pack is the Lip Glow Color Reviver Balm. Such a gorgeous, natural lip colour, well worth spending a few extra quid. Think it's gonna be the first lip product that I entirely use up!

  7. Never knew Dior did a concealer, but it sounds great. How come the UD concealer doesn't sit right?

  8. I seem to have had an allergic reaction to something I was using, but am not 100% sure what because when it started, I was using a new cleanser, moisturiser, eye liner and foundation. I also got hayfever & was rubbing my eyes, which didn't help and I ended up with little patches of crusty dry skin - almost like eczema, on my eyelids and under eye area and the UD concealer just exasperated the whole thing & caked under my eyes. It just wouldn't sit right. My skin has improved but it was still creasing & settling into fine lines like crazy so I thought a less cream & more hydrating concealer was the way to go & I'm so happy I bought this! xx

  14. Right now I'm using the Estee Lauder Double Wear concealer along with the MAC studio conceal and correct duo to brighten. I just got an sample of the Dior Airflash foundation so I'm excited to try that out. I've noticed that my undereye is drier than usual lately so perhaps I'll try to score a sample of the hydrating concealer next time I'm stateside (Dior isn't sold here, unfortunately). :-)
