Recent purchases #20 featuring Smashbox, Xen Tan, Anastasia Beverly Hills, Alpha H & more!

I've really been #feeling spendy recently & today I am going to share what I've been buying but after this I think I'll have to rein it in a bit because I have so many new products to play with and if I keep buying, I'll never get around to using the products I already own, plus my bank account won't thank me! I have a mixture of skincare, make-up, haircare & lots of tanning products to tell you about today.

First up is a lip glosss from Anastasia Beverly Hills and it is in the shade Maui (£22), which I think will be perfect for summer. I'm hoping I like this because I really didn't like their liquid lipsticks.

The only other make-up item I bought is the Smashbox Full Exposure Palette (€44) (I really am a palette addict!). I didn't jump at this palette when it was first released because I had a lot of similar palettes already, but when I saw Chloe Morello use it in a recent youtube video, I had to buy it because I loved the look she did. I have heard mixed reports on this palette, so will let you know what I think of it when I have used it a few times.

I recently finished a bottle of Alpha H Liquid Gold (£33.50), so I repurchased that because I find that it really helps keep the bumpiness along my jaw line at bay. It's a product that when you apply, you aren't sure if it will do anything, but leaves the skin looking very clear the next morning. I tend to use this maybe twice a week and it really lasts a long time. The packaging has changed & the bottles seem a lot smaller, but still say they contain 100ml. When I bought these, there was a special offer of 2 bottles for £38 so it made sense to buy 2. They will last me for about 18 months.

I bought two haircare products - one budget & one mid -high end, The budget friendly product is from Dove and it is their Advanced Hair Series Root Lift Spray (€4.49). I really like Dove hair products and even prefer the conditioner, which I blogged about here to the Ojon conditioner I compared it to. I have high hopes for this product. At the other end of the spectrum, I bought Oscar Blandi Dry Heat Protect Spray (£15.56) because I have wanted this for quite a while, since I heard Amelia Liana talk about it in one of her hair care videos last year. I like the idea of it being dry, because I find some heat protectants to be very wet, which is a pain if I am using them on dry hair for a restyle so I am really looking forward to trying this.

Finally (!), I went on a it of a fake tan spree! I usually have a few bottle in my stash but recently finished all that I had apart from a can of Cocoa Brown Mousse, which had hardly been used but the nozzle wouldn't work so I couldn't get any out! I apply tan every Thursday (#TanThursday!) so I like to know I have a decent supply! I always feel that I look a little healthier with a tan (real or fake) so I don't like to run out or I will look as ill as I actually am! (I have Chronic Lyme Disease amongst other things).  I usually just stick to Xen Tan because I know it works for me - it's non-streaky, fades evenly and gives a nice colour (not orange!) but there were some great offers on, so I really stocked up on fake tans! Superdrug had a buy 1, get 1 half price on Lauren's Way Tan so I bought 2 bottles of the Dark Bronzing Lotion. (£16.95). I have read great reviews of this tan, so I'm looking forward to trying it out for myself. Feel Unique had an offer on Sienna X Q10 Bronzing Mousse where it was reduced to €21, so I decided to try that. I generally prefer lotions to mousse, but I am looking forward to giving this a go. My favourite Xen Tan Moroccan Tan was reduced to £15 on a daily offer, so I grabbed the opportunity to get it at that price and the next day, the original Dark Lotion was reduced to £15, so I had to buy that too. So that is me stocked up on fake tan for a good few months, although I really want to try Tan Organic at some point too. I also picked up another tan mitt - I have used many different types, but I find the St Tropez one to be very strong and it was only €4.89 so hopefully it will last a while.

So that's the end of my haul. I'm really happy with all of these products and excited to get using them! I was so tempted to open them when they arrived at different stages, but resisted and kept them all for one photo! Have you tried any of these products? Any palette or fake tan addicts out there like me?! Don't forget to enter my 1000 Bloglovin followers giveaway, where you can win a Bobbi Brown Limited Edition Calypso Palette here.
