REVIEW: Oscar Blandi Pronto Dry Heat Protect Spray

I'm not going to lie, I totally bought this because both Fleur De Force and Amelia Liana recommended it and they both have amazing hair, so if they give a hair product the thumbs up, it goes on to my list of things to buy! Oscar Blandi Pronto Dry Heat Protect Spray is different from other heat protectors because, as the name suggests, it is a dry product. This really intrigued me.

As far as I am aware, Oscar Blandi products are not sold anywhere in the UK or Ireland, so I tracked it down on Amazon, where it cost £15.45 plus P&P. Definitely not the cheapest heat protector I have ever bought, but probably not the most expensive either. The can contains 113g/4oz of product, which I imagine will last me quite a while because I only use heat on it twice weekly.

Before blow drying my hair, I use Kerastase Ciment Thermique, which is a heat activated protector for damaged hair, but sometimes I leave my hair to dry naturally, but I then straighten it because it dries in a non-wavy/non-straight kind of way naturally, which doesn't look great, but I don't like when spray in heat protectors really wet my hair before straightening, because my hair then seems to sizzle when the GHD is applied. With this product, that doesn't happen. The product comes out in a very fine spray -almost cloudy if that makes sense and it really is a dry product so when I use my GHD or curling wand, there is no sizzle at all.

The scent is very fresh - almost citrusy and it is so fine that it doesn't leave any residue in the hair and doesn't leave it lank or greasy, or crispy for that matter! I really can't feel this product in my hair at all. I think this would be brilliant for people who run the straightener or tongs through their hair on a daily basis because it doesn't add any weight, it simply just protects the hair. It protects up to 450 degrees Fahrenheit, so that should cover most heat appliances.

I'm really happy to own this product and just wish it was easier to purchase because I would love to try more products from the brand. I will definitely repurchase when it runs out (which hopefully won't be for quite a while) because I don't know of any other product like it. Do you know of any dry heat protectors? If you do, I'd love you to let me know in the comments below!
