Top Ten Hair and Body care products of 2015 (plus some miscellaneous favourites!) featuring Clarins, This Works, Nivea, Jo Malone & more!

I'm back with my third instalment of standout products from 2015 (see make-up here and skincare here) and this time I am focusing on hair and body products and a few miscellaneous others that have all really impressed me this year. There is a real mixture of budget & luxury products so let's get started!

Hair:

Pureology is a brand that I only began using late this year but I have been so impressed by the products that they had to be in my top ten - the shampoo in particular is a really brilliant product. It is from the Strength Cure range and my hair has been loving it. It is quite creamy/heavy in texture but it doesn't weigh my hair down, which is a pet hate of mine. It leaves my hair so soft and manageable and the scent is beautiful - quite like baby powder, and my hair feels stronger since I began using it. A little goes a long way too, which I love because it costs €15!

Ciment Thermique is a must have product for me that I re-discovered this year. It is a leave in heat protectant from Kerastase that helps to prevent breakage whilst also repairing the hair. This also has a very beautiful scent - very fresh, and my hair feels very bouncy when I use it. Again, it doesn't weigh my hair down at all.

Finally in haircare, I have to mention Moroccanoil Glimmer Shine. I find the original Moroccanoil a little too heavy for my hair, but I like the shine that it gives so this shine spray is ideal for me because it gives the shine I love without the weight. It is a finishing spray and two quick sprays are enough for my hair. I would highly recommend it if you like a nice gloss to your hair.

Body:

The number one standout product in this category for me this year is Jo Malone Geranium & Walnut Body Scrub. This is definitely a luxury product but wow, it really leaves my skin feeling silky soft. It has a creamy texture, a nice grit but it doesn't drag or rip the skin. A small amount goes a long way the scent is really uplifting. A definite 10/10 for me!

At the other end of the price scale is one of my favourite body lotions and one that I have repurchased hundreds of times: Nivea Q10 firming body lotion. It is inexpensive, absorbs quickly so there's no hanging around in the cold waiting to get dressed and it really keeps my skin soft & supple.

I have also really loved using body oils this year and the one that stands out the most is L'Occitane Tonic Body Oil from the Amande range. This has a light, refreshing texture and my skin absorbs it immediately, it also has a beautiful scent and I just find it to be a very effective, very moisturising product, without the greasiness usually associated with body oils.

My favourite hand cream this year (and for several years) has been Clarins Hand and Nail Treatment Cream. It is light in texture but very moisturising and is non-greasy so you can get on with whatever you need to do without having to hang around waiting for it to absorb! Love it!

Miscellaneous:

The first product that I have to mention is from This Works and it is their Sleep Plus + Pillow Spray. I loved the original version of the pillow spray (despite being a sceptic before I tried it!), but this new + version is so much better. It really helps me to stay asleep for longer as well as helping me to drop off. I know some people say that it is expensive but I think that you can't put a price on a good night's sleep!

Dr Lewinn's Renunail Nail Strengthener has been a revelation for me this year. I have tried other strengtheners in the past but none compare to this. I first used it after a bad experience with a base coat that ruined my nails and they were all broken and splitting. Within about 10 days, I could see a definite difference and at the end of the 4 week period, my nails were strong and long again with no peeling. I have used it around once a month for a week at a time since then and my nails have never been stronger. This will be forever repurchased!

The final standout product of the year for me has to be a Jo Malone fragrance and I've chosen Wood Sage & Sea Salt. My husband treated me to this for our anniversary and I have been hooked ever since. It is very different to any other perfume in my collection - it is almost quite masculine in scent, but is refreshing and also smells very clean. I love to wear it alone but also layered with Lime, Basil & Mandarin. An absolute treat!

Have you used any of these products? I'd love to hear your thoughts on them, and also what your favourite products from these categories are? Please tell me in the comments below!
