My sales purchases featuring Origins, Elemental Herbology & more!

2016 is the year that I start to be more mindful with my spending because I find that, especially with online shopping, I sometimes go a little crazy and buy things because I want them without actually thinking about whether I need them or if I already have a similar product in my ever-expanding collection! Because of that, I haven't gone crazy in the sales and actually, these purchases were made before 2015 ended so I am now into my fifth no-spend day this year! I don't want to put myself on a complete spending ban because that might tempt me to splurge at the end of the ban period, but I definitely want to think more about what I am spending. Sales are so tempting and I usually buy lots of products but this time around I've been very restrained - I've actually only bought five products and I'm going to share them with you today! I wonder how long this new me will last?! Five days and counting.................

The first product that I bought is a necessity. The medication that I am on at the moment (and will be for at least another 6-9 months, probably longer) is playing havoc with my skin and hair. The last time I was on medication for such a long period of time, I found that Grow Gorgeous serum really helped with my hair volume & growth (read my review here). I decided a while ago that I wanted to buy another bottle so when I saw it on sale for €24.55, I snapped it up. I am looking forward to using this again and hopefully my hair will be looking good for summer!

I absolutely love Origins Plantscription Powerful Lifting Cream so when I saw the Plantscription gift set before Christmas, I was very tempted to buy it but it cost €80 and even though the value was more than double that, I couldn't justify the purchase before Christmas when I had so many pressies to buy. However, when I saw it in the Feel Unique sale reduced to €48, I had to grab it! It contains a full size (50ml) tub of the Plantscription cream, a 15ml bottle of Plantscription Youth-Renewing Face Oil, 15ml Plantscription Anti-Ageing Power Serum, a 5ml tub of Plantscription Anti-Ageing Power Eye Cream and a 50ml tube of Plantscription Anti-Ageing Hand Cream. A total bargain at €48 and a great way to try more products in the range. It is now sold out on Feel Unique but you might find it at Origins counters.

I was very restrained and only purchased one item in the Space NK sale - I simply couldn't resist buying Perricone MD Hyalo Plasma because it is described as having three forms of hyaluronic acid in it, which sounds perfect for my dry and dehydrated skin but it was also reduced from £110 to £27.50!! What a bargain! I just worry about what I'll do if I fall in love with it because I couldn't afford to use such an expensive moisturiser on a daily basis unless I win the lotto!

Finally, I purchased two items from Elemental Herbology (one has yet to arrive). I bought Cell Food Radiance Serum because it had been on my radar for a while and it is now reduced to half price (£22.50) so I am excited to try it and let you know what I think. I also bought their Five Element Aromatherapy Bath and Shower Oil Collection, which was reduced to half price also (£17.50). I love aromatherapy bath oils and this one really appealed because it has oils to detox, rejuvenate, soothe, balance and add zest depending on your needs. I am really looking forward to using these!

I'd love to know what you've been buying in the sales? Please tell me in the comments below! I'm also curious as to whether you're a spender or a saver? I like to think I'm a bit of both but am aiming for more balance this year!
