Happy St Patrick's Day! 5 Irish brands you need to try featuring Bellamianta, Pestle & Mortar, SoSu & more!

Happy St. Patrick's Day! To mark the day, I thought it would be an ideal opportunity to introduce you to some Irish brands that everybody should know about because, basically, they rock! My stats show me that I actually have more readers in the U.K. and the U.S. than in Ireland so I am hoping that you will be excited to hear about these brands and products.

First up is Pestle & Mortar, which is the brainchild of Sonia Deasy and her biochemist sister. Their first release was Pure Hyaluronic Serum but I have yet to try that so the product that I am recommending to you is Superstar Retinol Night Oil. It is named Superstar for a reason - it is a game-changing skincare product that has all the benefits of retinol, without any of the irritations that can be associated with it. I've seen improvements in the texture of my skin and the appearance of my pores since starting to use this product. A less expensive alternative to Sunday Riley Luna that performs equally as well, if not, better. Read more in my review here. To find a stockist in your country, check here or you can buy from Cloud10 Beauty who offer free international delivery on orders over €40. Pestle & Mortar is a cruelty free brand. For today only, Cloud10Beauty have 17% off everything with the code PATRICK.

Human & Kind is another cruelty free brand and their Family Remedy Cream is a brilliant all-rounder product. It has a gel/balm texture and is perfect for eczema, psoriasis, razor burns, insect bites and irritated skin in general. Their products are sold worldwide in Boots, Ulta, Lloyds, Rickys NYC and more but they can also be bought online here with free delivery on orders over €50.

Spotlight Whitening is another brand formed by two sisters (Lisa and Vanessa Creaven), both of whom are dentists. Their teeth whitening strips contain hydrogen peroxide and it is the first of its kind available in Irish pharmacies to do so. The box contains 14 pairs of strips (1 for the top teeth and another for the lower) and what makes them different from other whitening strips that I have tried is that they actually stick to your teeth. If you have ever used any teeth whitening strips before, you will know that they tend to make you drool (very attractive, I know!) and because of this, it can be difficult to get the strips to stay in place but that isn't the case with these. They are left on for 1 hour and within 5-7 days, I saw a huge difference in my teeth but by the end of the 14 days use from the first pack, my teeth were the whitest they have ever been! I have bought a second pack to do occasional top ups but the founders say that the effect should last for around 3 months. I also have to add that I experienced zero sensitivity with these strips. Available in pharmacies around Ireland but also from Cloud 10 Beauty, who ship internationally. I am not sponsored or affiliated in any way with Cloud 10 by the way, I just think that the site is great, shipping is free for orders over €40 and it is fast!

Next up is a tan from Bellamianta, which was created and is manufactured in Ireland. I recently bought the Self Tanning Tinted Lotion but they also sell a mousse - I just personally prefer lotions as my skin is dry and I sometimes find that tanning mousses can dry it even further. What I love about this tan, apart from the golden olive colour it gives me, is the fact that it doesn't really have any scent - no biscuit smell here! The lotion applies evenly for a streak-free tan, dries very quickly and it fades evenly, which is also very important. I find that it lasts around 5 days on me before it needs to be re-applied, which is pretty good. It is another cruelty free brand. Bellamianta is also sold on Cloud 10 Beauty or you can buy direct from their site here.

Suzanne Jackson is to the Irish blogging scene what Zoella is to the U.K. blogosphere - I don't mean in terms of personality, but more in terms of how stratospheric her blog is. Like Zoe, Suzanne's popularity led to a beauty range, which began with nail polishes, then lashes, then a contour kit and finally a highlighter kit, which is what I bought. This highlighter palette contains 6 highlighters - 3 powders and 3 baked. The baked highlighters have a more intense finish, perfect for nights out whereas the powders are ideal for more subtle highlighting but can also be built up for more intensity. The shades range from a very wearable champagne to an intense bronze with some pink tones in there too. The texture and pigmentation is comparable to Anastasia Beverly Hills highlighters and the packaging (heavy cardboard) is similar to Anastasia Glow Kits but with the inclusion of a mirror. They also work well as blush toppers or as eyeshadows so it's a pretty versatile palette and at €29.95, a lot more affordable than the Anastasia offerings. I am currently waiting for the Anastasia/Nicole Guerriero palette to arrive and I have a feeling that they are pretty similar so I will let you know if I think this is a dupe for the ABH/Nicole palette. This can be ordered directly fro the SoSu site but the shipping fees are quite high if you are outside Ireland, so again I would recommend Cloud10 Beauty. SoSu is also a cruelty free brand.

I hope you enjoyed reading this post and discovering some Irish brands, if you haven't heard of them before. Obviously there are other fabulous Irish brands out there but these are my favourites of the brands I have tried and that I currently have in my collection. This post isn't sponsored, I bought everything myself and I'm in no way affiliated with any of these brands but wanted to recommend them because they all fantastic products. I am not affiliated with Cloud10 Beauty either but really recommend them because they offer free international delivery on orders over €40 and shipping from only €2.50 for orders under €40 plus their delivery is very fast. They don't only sell Irish brands - there are lots of others on there too! Plus, for today only, Cloud10Beauty have 17% off everything with the code PATRICK.

Have any of these brands or products caught your eye? I would love to hear in the comments below! I'm off to enjoy the day of festivities with my family!
