Jo Malone Tropical Cherimoya Cologne

Jo Malone Tropical Cherimoya Cologne Review

When we were passing through Duty Free recently, I had my usual browse in Jo Malone but wasn't really planning to buy anything, however their new limited edition fragrance Tropical Cherimoya caught my eye. The bright coloured bottle alone was enough to draw me in but when the sales assistant said that it was limited edition for May only, it really grabbed my attention - I really am a sucker for these things!

The bottle is obviously very different from the usual Jo Malone colour palette of cream with black accents and to be honest, I'm not sure how I feel about it. Yes, it screams carnival and summer but green, pink and orange together are on the verge of also being a bit cheap looking and we all know that Jo Malone products are not cheap! The 100ml bottle has a pink lid and I think that looks better because pink and green contrast well - it's the orange that is off-putting for me!

Like the other colognes, it is available in  30ml and 100ml bottles - my husband kindly treated me to the 30ml bottle because I felt that as it was a summer fragrance (and I already have quite a few summer perfumes - post here), I didn't need a 100ml bottle, but if you like to treat yourself to a new fragrance at the start of each season, you may prefer the bigger bottle.

The fragrance itself is pretty unique - it's lightly sweet, quite fruity but with a woody/smoky edge. The top notes are pear and passion flower so if you like English Pear & Freesia, you might think that this would be right up your street, however this scent is warmer and has a hint of spice due to the base note of tonka bean. For me, it smells very similar to English Pear & Freesia combined with Peony & Blush Suede - sweet but with a bite but it also has some warmth due to the Cherimoya, which makes it the perfect summer scent. It is ideal for warm summer nights so I know that I'll be bringing on holiday next month. The wear time is around the 5/6 hour mark, which I think is pretty average for Jo Malone colognes - the intense version lasts longer on me.

If you're in the market for a new summer scent, I would recommend checking this out and if you are going through Duty Free, even better, as you can save almost £9 by buying there! And don't forget about their Reserve & Collect option, which you can avail of even if you aren't flying yourself but know somebody who is willing to collect your order for you! Remember that this fragrance is limited edition so grab it while you can!

Does this sound like your kind of perfume? What do you think of the packaging? I'd love to hear!
