I love that we've reached that time of year when the festive makeup collections are being released - the party season really is the time when it's acceptable to be a bit extra with your makeup, whether it's day or night. Today I want to show you the Clarins Festive Makeup Collection - prepare to swoon!
Clarins is a brand that most people associate with skincare (and rightly so as they have some amazing products) but in terms of makeup, I think they are underrated. This year, I have had the opportunity to try a good number of their makeup products and I have been seriously impressed - see posts here, here and here. Their mascara and lipsticks are in my everyday makeup rotation and their foundation brush is the softest I have ever used. If you have never tried their makeup before, then maybe their Festive makeup collection is the place to start! It isn't a huge collection but all of the products are perfect for Christmas and the holiday season in general.
Highlighter Palette: The packaging of this highlighter is so pretty - gold with a splattering of little stars on the lid. It's sturdy and has a good sized mirror inside the lid. The highlighter itself is very sparkly with micro glitter running through it, although it isn't chunky. The base is quite a sheer champagne colour and the sparkle is gold, which catches the light beautifully. I personally like less glitter and more sheen on the tops of my cheekbones so I won't use it there, however I think it works beautifully as a lid topper and also along the collarbone to draw some attention to that area. I think this would make a beautiful gift. £31.
Gold Top Coat Mascara: If you can't wear gold mascara at Christmas, then when can you?! Rather than wear it as an actual mascara, I've tried it as a lash topper, concentrating on the ends of my lashes rather than all over. It has a bristle wand for general lash coating and the tip is for a more precise application. It's not something I would wear all year round but for Christmas, why not?! £22.
Instant Light Comfort Oil: Finally, a very welcome product for the colder months. This lip oil comforts and conditions the lips using plant oils and for Christmas, they have added the shade Red Berry Glam, which is a deep red with gold shimmer and is a limited edition shade for Christmas. It just adds a hint of colour so it's easy to reapply and it smells amazing - like pick & mix sweets so I'm quite happy to keep reapplying! This would be a perfect stocking filler or Secret Santa gift! £19.
Do you like to go a bit extra with your makeup for Christmas? Have you even started to think about the festive season yet? I'd love to hear!
