Are you buying an Advent Calendar this year, and if so, which one?

The best Advent Calendars 2021

Every year, it seems that more and more brands have jumped on the Advent Calendar bandwagon! It can be utterly overwhelming to try to decide on one because the majority offer amazing value, yet some are really expensive. Last year, I bought the Cult Beauty calendar and had no regrets, as there were no duds or filler items in it at all. I opened it every morning on my Instastories and had a fantastic reaction. I had a lot of DMs from people who had missed out on it, but also a lot saying how expensive it was, so I suggested putting cash into an envelope on a weekly or monthly basis in order to be able to afford it this year and I'm delighted that some people have messaged me to say that they have done this and will be treating themselves to a luxury Advent Calendar this year! Here are my top picks (apart from chocolate - I always need one of those to open!) and I'd love to hear which one you're most tempted to buy!

Glossybox*: I was lucky enough to be sent this calendar, but I don't think that I'm being biased in saying that it's a great option. It has a value of £465, but is priced at only £85 for Glossybox subscribers and £105 for non-subscribers. I love that it has a product each day for 25 days, as some calendars only go as far as Christmas Eve, but I love having something to open on Christmas Day. It contains 15 full sized products and 10 deluxe mini sizes, with brands like Elemis, Huda Beauty, Wander Beauty, Sarah Chapman, Zoeva, Verso and so many more quality brands in there.  It's amazing value for money, already on sale, and bound to sell out quickly, so don't delay if you want a quality calendar at a very reasonable price.

Space NK: This calendar has an amazing RRP of £744, but is priced at £199, so not exactly cheap, but offers a HUGE saving. It's packed with amazing brands, including Charlotte Tilbury, Kate Somerville, Sunday Riley, Drunk Elephant and more. This sold out very quickly last year and went on sale on September 18th, so I expect the same this year - I just wish it had 25 products, rather than 24!

Jo Loves: I adore every scent I've tried from this brand, so I know that I would ADORE this calendar, as it contains a mixture of fragrance, candles and bath & body products. It's worth £485, but is priced at £325, which is an excellent saving, but still a LOT of money! It has 25 products, with a mega surprise on Christmas Day.  I have to mention that I love the star packaging!

Jo Malone: Another very decadent calendar for any fragrance lover. I'm glad to see that they've changed their design this year, as it's one that can be re-used. Like the one above, it contains a variety of fragrance-centric products, and is priced at £325, but I can't find the RRP at the moment. Again, it has 24 products, rather than 25 - I think that brands miss a trick with that!

Cult Beauty: This has 25 doors, but 38 products, because some drawers have more than one product - Christmas Day certainly doesn't disappoint! There's also the opportunity for one person to win a £1000 golden ticket, to spend on site - the dream, right?! It has an RRP of £960 and is priced at £215, so certainly wins in the value stakes, plus the site are donating £40,000 to Beauty Backed, which is a charity that is assisting beauty businesses affected by the pandemic, As if all of that wasn't enough, the brands included are Natasha Denona, Victoria Beckham Beauty, Augustine Bader, Summer Fridays, Charlotte Tilbury and more. This is one calendar that is sure not to disappoint - I just hope that they produced more than last year!

Look Fantastic: This calendar is always amazing value, with no exception this year - the RRP is over £400, but the price is £85, or £70, if you are a beauty box subscriber. Brands included are ESPA, This Works, Grow Gorgeous, Nars, AHC, Iconic London, Omorovicza, Caudalie and so many more really brilliant brands. I had this one two years running and made so many amazing discoveries and even went on to repurchase some of the products. It always sells out early and doesn't re-stock, so grab it while you can!

Feel Unique: This has the full 25 days, and actually contains 27 products. The brands included are Laura Mercier, Medik8, Charlotte Tilbury, Molton Brown, Huda Beauty and more! The value is £385, with a price tag of £119, which is a pretty good saving, especially given the quality of the brands. I love the festive colours on the outside and that the drawers are a warm pink and burgundy - a twist on the traditional Christmas colours! This is bound to sell out, so act fast if you want it!

L'Occitane: I think that this was my first beauty advent calendar, so I have a real soft spot for it,  plus it's one of my favourite brands overall - I adore their skincare, haircare, fragrances, hand creams and bath and body products. They release a deluxe and classic calendar each year, all fully recyclable, as this brand is committed to sustainability. This is a brilliant calendar to get if you want to try lots of the ranges from the brand, as it's how I discovered some of my favourite scents, plus I love that I smell amazing every day in the run up to Christmas, as the bath and body treats have a few uses in them!

Beauty Expert: This is a 12 days of Christmas calendar, but always worth checking out because all products are full size and all high end brands. I've used every last drop of the products I  received in this calendar when I received it 2 years ago. It hasn't been confirmed that they are doing one this year, so keep an eye on the site and I'll update this post when I know.

A brand that I would LOVE to see do an Advent Calendar next year, is Omorovicza! I'd be first in the queue to buy it!  Have any of these caught your eye? Have you bought a beauty advent calendar yet, or do you plan to? I'd love to hear!
