Top 10 Gifts for Mother's Day

Top 10 Gifts for Mother's Day 2022

The countdown is on - Mother's Day is next Sunday here in Ireland and the UK! So, with that in mind, I've collated my Top 10 gifts for all of the mothers, mothers in-law, step-mothers, mother figures, wives, girlfriends...... basically anybody who plays a maternal role, either in your life, or maybe that's you, in which case, you can forward this post to any of your significant others! I think the best gift anyone could give this year, is a donation to any of the charities helping in Ukraine - Unicef, The Red Cross, and many more. I think that most of us have done that already, so if you'd like to give a physical gift, rather than my traditional gift guides, I've chosen the Top 10 gifts, and you still have time to order! Anything marked with a * was kindly gifted to me, without obligation.

Jo Malone Sea Daffodil Cologne Review

Jo Malone Sea Daffodil Cologne: A new release, which any lover of this brand will be keen to try. The bottle is stunning, with a white marble lid - it definitely makes it stand out from other fragrances from the brand. This is a beautiful fragrance for Spring, with notes of mandarin, pink pepper, sea daffodil, ylang ylang, and base notes of sandalwood, vanilla and veitver. They combine to create a clean, fresh, yet also musky, fragrance. It's suitable for both day and night wear, and really is perfect for this time of year and the months ahead.

Rejuvenated Mother's Day Gift Set*: For any skincare lovers, who want to take care of themselves from the inside (which is the best way), this set is the perfect gift. It contains a full size pouch of Collagen Shots (review here), a packet of H3O Night Repair (review here), and a pink tote bag, which is always useful. These products are so easy to incorporate into your daily routine, and skin feels and looks plump and strong, with consistent use.

Molton Brown Rhubarb & Rose Eau De Toilette*: This is a truly beautiful scent - the zestiness of the rhubarb, combined with notes of grapefruit and lemongrass, balance the rose notes so well, with a base of vanilla and musk, to create a floral scent with a little bit of bite, but it isn't bitter or too sharp. It lasts really well on the skin, and can still be detected after a good 7/8 hours, or more. It really lingers on clothes too.

Molton Brown Orange & Bergamot Pampering Gift Set*: There are so many scent combinations with this brand, which is fantastic, as there is sure to be something for everyone. This one is really beautiful for Spring, as it's fresh and invigorating, with notes of orange, bergamot and mandarin, combined with ylang ylang, musk, and neroli, amongst others. This set contains a 300ml shower gel, a 300ml body lotion, and a hand cream, all of which layer to create a beautiful scent, which fills the room. The body lotion absorbs easily (I'm not a fan of body lotions that require a workout to apply!), and layered with the shower gel, the scent lasts longer. Spring/Summer in bottles, presented beautifully and there's free shipping too - what more would you want?!

Clinique Moisture Surge 100H Auto-Replenishing Hydrator

Clinique Moisture Surge 100H Auto-Replenishing Hydrator*: A gel-cream moisturiser that will suit all skin types. The texture makes it perfect for Spring/Summer, in particular, when it comes to the warmer months, but I can imagine oily and combination skin would enjoy this moisturiser all year round. It contains hyaluronic acid and aloe bio-ferment (amongst other ingredients), both of which attract water into the skin, and soothe it. What's interesting is the Auto-Replenishing aspect, which encourages the skin to continually rehydrate itself (hence the 100H, which is the latest version, as the previous one was 72H). It sinks into the skin easily, without pilling, and skin instantly feels less thirsty, soothed and comfortable. The jar is also now recyclable, so it's a win/win with this moisturiser!

Trophyskin Microderm MD review

Trophy Skin Microderm MD*: A gift for both skincare and gadget lovers!  I think that most people got used to doing at-home treatments during lockdown, and many of us have continued, as we realised how much money we could save. This is a microdermabrasion machine, which uses diamond exfoliation, to reveal brighter skin, but also, more even skin. It helps to improve the appearance of scarring, pigmentation and porous skin. It's not cheap, but definitely an investment for somebody who really likes to take care of their skin and wants to improve the condition of it, but can' always get to a salon. A full review of this will follow.

Charlotte Tilbury Collagen Superfusion Face Oil Review

Charlotte Tilbury Collagen Superfusion Face Oil*: The latest release from the brand, which has claims of making the skin 337% smoother and more even, as well as 311% firmer and 389% more radiant. I am unsure how these percentages are measured, however I can say that this oil is super nourishing, makes the skin glow, doesn't feel greasy, or like it's sitting on the skin, and it also reduces redness in the skin. For those with dry skin, the texture means that it could even be used in the morning, rather than just the evening time. I will do a full review soon, but I can't imagine that anyone wouldn't be delighted to receive this as a gift!

Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream*: A classic! This was a product that Charlotte made herself, years before starting her brand, to use backstage at fashion shows, to transform the tired skin of the models. It contains hyaluronic acid, shea butter, rosehip oil, Vitamins C & E, camellia oil, aloe vera, and more. It can be used to prep skin for makeup, or as a regular moisturiser, and Charlotte shares her preferred application method on her site. Skin is left feeling smooth and soft, and looking brighter. There is also a light version available for those who have oily/combination skin. For an extra special touch, the jar can be engraved.

Bella Freud Loving Candle

Bella Freud Loving Candle: I think that a candle makes a really beautiful gift, and this one smells so comforting and warm, that I think it's ideal for Mother's Day. Tuberose and sandalwood combine to create what I think a hug would smell like, if you could bottle it!

Armani Sī Passione Éclat De Parfum Review

Armani Sī Passione Éclat De Parfum*: Finally, another fragrance, but not just any old fragrance. This is the latest release in the Armani SĪ line. The Éclat in the name means brightness, which refers to the sparkling scent, which is comprised of top notes of bergamot, blackcurrant, rose as a middle note, and musk and vanilla as base notes. The result is a very feminine, but sophisticated rather than girly, fragrance. The red bottle is striking (just like the fragrance), and will look fabulous on any dressing table. This is definitely a fragrance that lifts the spirits and makes you feel powerful, yet the fragrance itself isn't overpowering.

I hope this has served as some inspiration if you haven't shopped for Mother's Day yet, or even just as a general gift guide for birthdays etc. Which gift would you most love to receive? I'd love to hear!
