Mother's Day Gift Guide

Mother's Day is next Sunday, March 11th, in the UK & Ireland and even if you think it's just another Hallmark Day, any occasion to make your mother feel special is worth celebrating, in my opinion! Today I want to share some gift ideas for your mother or if you are a mother yourself, you might want to leave this post open to drop hints to your other half or children! I have a mixture of skincare, makeup and a few non-beauty items as I know not everyone is a beauty lover.

Skincare:

I got my love of skincare from my mother so naturally, I love to treat her to some products on every occasion possible! Regular readers will know that I rave about Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum and I think it would be an ideal gift for any mother because it really helps to banish the signs of a bad night's sleep - it heals, hydrates, plumps and brightens the skin and with consistent use, skin is firm and strengthened. Another beautiful serum is NeoStrata Tri-Therapy Lifting Serum, which adds radiance to the skin, whilst firming it due to the three active ingredients: AminoFil, Gluconolactone and Hyaluronic Acid. This is a brilliant serum for those who are starting to see the signs of aging because it stimulates collagen production, which strengthens the skin and improves the tone and texture over time.

A gift set is something I am always keen to give as a gift because it's a great way to try a number of products from a brand and they are also good value. My personal favourite is Lime, Basil and Mandarin as it's so zesty and invigorating!

One of my favourite releases of 2017 was Tiffany Eau De Parfum - everything from the bottle to the fragrance itself is stunning. It is best described as a sparkling scent - both musky and floral, not too heavy and pretty long-lasting on the skin. The bottle is also a beautiful addition to any dressing table.

Makeup:

The art deco styled packaging of Charlotte Tilbury products means that they are sure to be a hit with most beauty lovers and two products that really stand out from the line are Filmstar Bronze & Glow and the lipsticks. The texture of the contour/highlight duo is beautiful - so easy to apply and blend and flattering on mature ladies as the highlight doesn't settle into fine lines. The lipsticks are some of the most comfortable that I own - moisturising, pigmented and plumping.

For the mother with an edgier style, there are the new Kat Von D Studded Kiss lipsticks. These lipsticks are creamy, lightweight, pigmented and long-lasting. I have the shade Lolita OG, which is  pretty universally-flattering. The satin-matte finish is also very flattering as it doesn't highlight any lip lines or dryness.

Non-beauty:

I don't know anybody who doesn't appreciate new pyjamas! There is something about putting on a new pair after a bath that instantly relaxes me. This Nine By Savannah Miller set is so soft and feels really luxurious - combined with any of the pampering products mentioned above, means a relaxing night is bound to be had! A candle makes a great gift for those who don't have time to pamper themselves but still need help to relax. This Temple Spa Siesta Forever candle instantly transports me to a spa. The combination of lavender, petitgrain, geranium, frankincense, patchouli and other essential oils is soothing and relaxing and helps the mind to unwind and the body follows suit. This particular candle has a 45 hour burn time so it will last a long time if lit for just an hour or so every evening.
