My birthday makeup picks!

Laura Geller Flawless Filter Foundation Review, Anastasia Beverly Hills Norvina Palette Giveaway

It's my birthday tomorrow and whilst I'm not doing anything mega exciting, I still want to make an extra effort with my makeup as I'll be going on a dinner date with my husband. I thought I'd share the products I'll be using with you today!

Christian Breton eye masks: Before I start applying my makeup, I like to use an eye mask to plump the under eye area. I obviously don't do this on a daily basis but for a special occasion, why not? I love these Christian Breton eye masks because they feel soothing and they also make me look like I've had a full night's sleep, even if I haven't!

Primer, foundation and concealer: To prime, I'll use my all time favourite primer - Clarins Beauty Flash Balm. This plumps, hydrates and brightens my skin, providing the perfect canvas for my foundation, which will be Laura Geller Filter First Luminous Foundation. This foundation has medium but buildable coverage and it glides over pores to give a blurred and luminous finish to the skin. It doesn't highlight any dryness, cake or break down so it really is the perfect foundation for a long day or a night out. To conceal, I'll be using my trusty Clarins Instant Concealer - I can use this all over my face and it gives decent coverage without being heavy on the skin.

Highlight, blush and bronzer: To highlight, I'll use Charlotte Tilbury Bar Of Gold palette, which I reviewed here and my current go-to blush is this mini By Terry Compact-Expert Dual Powder because I just adore the finely milled formula and the colour. To bronze, I'll use my Hourglass Ambient Lighting Bronzer, which adds some luminosity to the skin as well as warmth.

Setting Spray: To set my base products, I'll be using Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray - this will ensure that nothing budges all evening! This travel size is ideal for holidays and you can buy it in Duty Free to ensure your makeup stays in place on hot summer evenings!

Brows: My current go-to brow duo are theBalm Furrowcious brow pencil and Benefit Ready Set Brow Gel. I love the brow pencil because the nib is tiny and I can real mimic the appearance of brow hairs as well as fill in gaps. The brow gel sets my brows without them feeling crispy!

Eye primer and Eyeshadow: To prime my eyes, I always rely on Nars Pro Prime Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base because it is guaranteed to keep my eyeshadow crease-free and vibrant. At the moment, I am really enjoying pairing By Terry Ombré Blackstar in Bronze Moon with Summer from the Anastasia Beverly Hills Norvina palette (which you can win here) and some Riff, from the Urban Decay Born To Run palette, in my crease. Review of that palette coming later this week.

Liner, mascara and lashes: Marc Jacobs Gel Eyeliner is perfect to tightline as it doesn't transfer and then I'll use a thin line of the new Fenty Flyliner before adding a coat of It Cosmetics Superhero mascara. And if you can't wear false lashes on your birthday, then when can you? So I'll wear a pair of Red Cherry Xanne lashes for a fluttery look.

Lip picks: I'll line my lips with Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat in the shade Supersize Me before using a beautiful Pat McGrath lipstick in the shade Donatella and finishing with Charlotte Tilbury Lip Lustre in the shade Seduction as I think a nude lip is best to go with the rest of my makeup and it can be easily topped up after eating.

Do you go all out with your makeup on your birthday? I'd love to hear!
