It's that time of the month again, when people get paid, feel rich for a day until all direct debits leave the account and then reality sets in! Don't worry, you can still treat yourself without breaking the bank, and I have three fab products for you, depending on your budget, or they could be used as gift ideas if you have any upcoming celebrations for beauty lovers!
Under £25: Keys Skincare Golden Cleanser: There are quite a few celebrity brands out there at the moment and, to be honest, not many capture my attention but when I saw the Alicia Keys skincare collection, I was intrigued. Alicia has beautiful skin and hasn't worn makeup since 2016, saying that it makes her feel empowered. She adds that she's not anti-makeup and it's a case of each to their own, but she personally feels most beautiful without makeup. With this approach, and the obvious fact that she has beautiful skin, which she clearly takes care of, this is one line that I am definitely interested in. Then I saw her Skincare Sunday stories, and I was sold. She takes a holistic approach to taking care of her skin, even including a candle, which she lights to begin. her skincare ritual (it's on my wish list!). This cleanser contains a generous 170ml, and has a pump - two wins! I like the simple packaging, which is unisex. It contains manuka honey, which is an ingredient that I love in skincare, as it's soothing and healing. It also contains turmeric and chamomile, both of which are calming, and charcoal, which removes any impurities on the skin. It creates a gentle foam, but the skin doesn't feel at all stripped when it is rinsed - just comfortable and calm. A little goes a long way, so if you're in the market for a new cleanser, I'd recommend trying this one, as I think it will suit all skin types. £20.
£25-50: BECCA Light Shifter Dewy Tinted Moisturiser: I'm not wearing a lot of makeup these days(who is?!), and when I do, I want it to be lightweight and quick & easy to apply. Nobody does glow like Becca, so I couldn't resist buying their latest release. This tinted moisturiser contains hyaluronic acid, squalane, Vitamin E and other nourishing and plumping ingredients, yet it doesn't feel at all greasy or heavy. In fact, it's very lightweight - I can't feel it on my skin. The coverage is light, but it has blurring properties, which I love and anyone with fine lines or visible pores, will appreciate, and it gives the skin a juicy, 'lit from within' look, without any discoball or greasy effect. My favourite way to apply it is with my fingers and I dab an extra bit on my chin, where I have some redness. This, a touch of concealer and a cream blush, gives the skin a very fresh and healthy look (I need all the help I can get in that department, so it really does work wonders!). I can see myself wearing this for the foreseeable! A big hit from Becca. £26.
£50+: U Beauty Resurfacing Compound*: I have been using U Beauty products for a few months now and before I started, the brand really intrigued me, because it promised to simplify any elaborate routine into 3 steps - cleanse, serum and moisturiser. This is the serum, which contains a blend of AHAs, retinol, Vitamins C and E, Hyaluronic Acid, peptides and antioxidants. It targets pigmentation, fine lines, sagging skin, wrinkles, pores - basically every skin issue, in just one product! To begin with, it is used twice daily, and after two weeks, it is reduced to every evening, although if you are sensitive or new to acids, you may want to begin with 2/3 times weekly. This is an ideal product for people who don't have the time nor inclination for an elaborate skincare routine, or for those who don't know where to start with products or don't want to have to use a number of products, yet still want their skin to look good. It will start to give results within a week. £85.
Will you be treating yourself to something this month? Or maybe you already have? I'd love to hear! Have any of these caught your eye?
