If a product was gifted to me, it will be marked with a * |
In case you weren't aware (because all days blur into one in lockdown), Mother's Day in the UK & Ireland is next Sunday, the 14th. I'm a little later than usual bringing you my gift guide, but better later than never! I know that it's tricky this year (as it was last year), with the restrictions and many people won't see their mothers on the day itself, and I'm sure they'd all prefer a phone call or a card, to any gift, nevertheless, I have some lovely gift ideas, which you can order to be delivered directly to your mother. Anything marked with a * was kindly gifted to me, without obligation.
Neom Wellbeing Pod Essential Oil Diffuser: I can say that without a doubt, this is one of the best gifts that I have ever received (from my Mam!), and I can't imagine anyone not loving one (if they like fragrance in their house, that is). The essential oils last for months, and there are so many different ones, to suit your mood. There is also a timer (in case you fall asleep with it on), and it has a light, which creates a soothing atmosphere. I have used it daily, since receiving it last summer and cannot see a time when I wouldn't use it. If your mother likes candles, reed diffusers etc, this really is a step up and would make a gorgeous gift. Save 20% at the checkout by using the code LYMIN on Look Fantastic.
Susanne Kaufmann Pillow Spray Calming: For anyone who has trouble sleeping, you cannot go wrong with a pillow spray, and this is one of the best that I have tried. It's the perfect de-stressor and relaxing scent, that isn't predominantly lavender, like most pillow sprays are. Just a few sprays of this on the pillow and duvet, and it is so easy to drift off to sleep.
Aerin Hibiscus Palm Eau De Parfum: If your Mum is a perfume lover (like mine), then this is a gorgeous scent, which makes me think of summer and (hopefully) good days ahead. If your mother likes warm, summer night fragrances with notes of coconut, vanilla musk, ylang-ylang and similar, she will ADORE this! For Spring, I think that Aerin Lilac Path would be perfect - notes of lilac, jasmine and orange flower scream Spring, so it really depends on your mother's taste. If I had kids, I'd be dropping hints for this one (to their father!). Save 20% at the checkout by using the code LYMIN on Look Fantastic.
Jo Loves Fragrances & candles: Another fragrance brand that gets it right every time, is Jo Loves. A candle, fragrance, body lotion or body wash from this brand, would make the most beautiful gift. Jo somehow manages to get the blend of notes right every time, to create unique scents, which makes it very difficult to choose a favourite. If your Mum like citrus scents, I'd recommend Pomelo or White Rose & Lemon Leaves. For a slightly warmer scent, I'd recommend Mango Thai Lime.
L'Occitane Rose Calisson Eau De Toilette, Shower Gel & Body Lotion*: This new rose range is different from traditional rose scents, as it combines citrus notes, with woody notes, as well delicate rose. While it initially smells like a rose scent, with a fruity twist, it then dries down to a musky powdery scent, which isn't at all overpowering, and smells fresh. By using the shower gel, body lotion and eau de toilette, the scent lasts longer and lingers on clothes. This really is a beautiful collection and not like traditional rose scents, which I know some people find to be old fashioned.
Molton Brown Citrus & Floral Bathing Gift Set*: One of my favourite gifts to both give and receive, is a bath or shower product. Molton Brown always combines scents beautifully and the fragrance fills the bathroom, with the shower gels lathering well, yet they don't strip the skin at all. This limited edition set contains Heavenly Gingerlily, which is a zesty, fresh, invigorating scent, Delicious Rhubarb and Rose, which may sound like an unusual combination, but it works so well because the rose reduces the sharpness of the rhubarb, and finally, Orange & Bergamot, which is perfect for Spring and Summer mornings, as it's fresh, zesty (without being too sharp), and uplifting. This trio is presented in a limited edition box, which unlike the usual dark boxes, is white with an orange tree pattern. It's definitely one to keep to store things in as it's so pretty!
Flowers: Bloom & Wild: Who doesn't love a beautiful bouquet of flowers? And the brilliant thing about this company, is that you can send letter box flowers (which come with instructions on how to arrange), and are in almost bud form, which will bloom in 24-48 hours, and this means that the bouquet will last longer. You can get £10 off your first order here.
Laura Mercier Body Soufflé: Most people use budget body lotions on a daily basis, so to receive a luxury body moisturiser is a real treat, and they don't get much better than these body soufflés - they are rich in texture, yet melts into the skin and the scent lingers for hours. These are for people who like gourmand scents, as they are rich and you really wouldn't need to wear perfume with them. Stunning, and a real treat. Nuxe Reve de Miel Body Oil Balm: Another beautiful body moisturiser, but less expensive than then the previous one. A little goes a long way with this, which absorbs so easily into the skin, leaving it nourished, but not greasy. Save 20% by using the code LYMIN at the checkout on Look Fantastic.
Omorovicza Gift With Purchase on orders over £150: Regular readers will know that this is my favourite brand, with plenty of posts on the blog. Their latest release Midnight Renewal Serum will be reviewed on the blog soon, and they have an amazing deal for Mother's Day. If you spend £150 or more on the Omorovicza site, use the code MOTHER at checkout and you will receive a free gift, of 6 products, worth over £116. Included in the set are: Revitalising Scalp Mask, Deep Cleansing Mask, Moor Cream Cleanser, Daily Vitamin C Serum, Balancing Moisturiser and a luxury wash bag.
Decree SOS Revitalising Mask*: Who doesn't love a good face mask? Better skin in 10 minutes? Sounds good to me! Unlike regular sheet masks, biocellulose masks fit perfectly on the face, which is one of the reasons that I'm not overly keen on regular sheet masks - they usually slip off my face, or don't fit properly! These masks are expensive, but there are six in a box and you only need to use one a week. These masks are divine - packed with hyaluronic acid, rose extract, amino acids and brightening anti-oxidants. As soon as the mask is applied, skin is quickly soothed and calm. The mask is packed with serum and there is extra in the packet, which I apply on my neck and after removing the mask (after 10 minutes), I pat the excess serum into my skin, before finishing my skincare routine. This mask leaves skin plump, bright, smooth, glowing and soft - without doubt, one of the best masks I've used and the perfect pick me up!
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette Volume II: Nobody does powders like Hourglass and this one illuminates the skin, blur pores, soften the appearance of fine lines and is weightless on the skin. It doesn't look at all cakey, or ageing on the skin. This trio contains Soft Light, Radiant Light and Golden Bronze Light, which can be used individually, as a setting powder, soft highlighter and bronzer, or you can swirl your brush over all three and apply to the face.
Dear Dahlia Paradise Effortless Matte Lipstick*: Have you seen more gorgeous packaging? Marble and rose gold - some people say it's had its day, but I don't think so, it's a classic combination, and the shape is unique. There are both satin and matte finishes available and a large range of colours. They feel so comfortable on the lips and are long-lasting. A fancy lipstick is always a nice gift. Save 20% by using the code LYMIN at the checkout on Look Fantastic.
Daily Planner: What I love about this daily planner is that it can be started on any date, it doesn't have to be January 1st, as it's undated. It has three lines for things you are grateful for (there is always something, no matter how deeply you have to search), then a few lines for your daily affirmation, which is important for checking in with yourself and reminding yourself of your good qualities, and then lines for daily tasks and a positive quote at the bottom of each page. I love planners and have used so many, but this is definitely one of the best.
I hope this post has served as some inspiration for you, if you haven't shopped for your Mum yet. It's a different one this year, but it can still be special! I'd love to hear your thoughts!
Thanks for reading!
