Expensive beauty products WORTH the money....

Expensive beauty products WORTH the money

Everywhere we turn nowadays, things have increased in price - food, clothing, general household bills, hair and beauty treatments - everything! Given this, I think that most people are more savvy about where money is being spent. I personally need to see value in what I spend my money on, so I need to know that a product is effective. I'm not interested in any 'princess products' these days. Here are the products with a high price point that I am happy to spend money on and next week, I will share some that I don't believe are worth the money (or at least there are less expensive products that do the same job).

Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm: This is not just a cleansing balm, it's an experience! Everything about this screams luxury, self care and pampering! The texture is so pliable and a pleasure to massage into the skin. I love taking my time to break down my makeup and SPF with this and it really does a brilliant job of melting everything away. The scent is beautiful but not overpowering - just very relaxing and not overloaded with essential oils, which can be an irritant for some skin. A little goes a long way so whilst it's pricey for a cleanser, it will last a long time. I have used so many cleansing balms over the years but not all are created equally!

Oskia Super-C Smart Nutrient Beauty Capsules: I have used Vitamin C products for years but absolutely none have brightened my skin and given a glow like these! I am shocked sometimes when I catch myself in the mirror without makeup and see the glow. The capsules are a serum-oil hybrid and they nourish the skin as well as brighten it, thanks to the Vitamin E, jojoba and almond seed oils and squalane they contain. I use one daily and there are 60 in a tub, so they last two months. Pricey but so worth it in terms of results.

Oskia Midnight Elixir: Another great product from Oskia! This really does so much for the skin in terms of firming and improving elasticity and bounce. It can be used right all over the face and neck, even on the gentle eye area. It works with our circadian rhythm to repair and regenerate the skin and results can be seen the morning after use but obviously, the best results are seen with consistent use. It contains growth factors, vitamins A, C, D3, E, B3 and B9 as well as resveratrol and a host of other hydrating and skin regenerating ingredients. It is very pricey but you only need to use a tiny pea-sized amount, plus it contains 50ml of product compared to the usual 30ml that most serums are available in. Absolutely worth the money if you're over 35 and starting to see the signs of ageing.

Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair: I have used this for so long and cannot imagine a time where I don't use it. It's tricky to pinpoint just one thing that this serum does because it's a multi-tasker but I know that if I don't use it, my skin looks dull and lacklustre. It helps to elasticize, hydrate and brighten the skin and it's only with consistent use that results will be seen. If I could only afford one luxury skincare product, it would be this.

Victoria Beckham Beauty Satin Kajal Eye Liners: I love this brand, in general, but these eye liners are standouts for me. I have watery eyes and oily lids so liners have to work hard to stay in place and these are the best ones that I have found. They can be smudged out when initially applied but then they just stay in place. Excellent for the waterline too. I never thought I'd spend so much on an eye liner but it's so worth it for one that's dependable.

Natasha Denona Eyeshadow palettes: I used to buy so many eyeshadow palettes but I gave that up a few years ago because it was getting out of hand! If I could only use one brand of palettes forever, it would be Natasha Denona. They are expensive so I would recommend choosing one that suits your colouring and your needs. Most have a combination of mattes, satins and shimmers, which cover day, night and occasion looks. The formula is beautiful - so finely milled and buttery that they practically blend themselves! They are also long-lasting on the lid and the pigmentation is spot on. Maybe start with a mini palette and decide from there if you want to invest in a full size palette.

Parfums De Marly fragrances: I have so many bottles of fragrance but I have repurchased these a few times because not only are the scents unique (there are some similar to Delina on the market, but not quite the same), they last SO WELL on the skin. I have received compliments from strangers on them hours after applying - I'm talking at least 6/7 hours or more and I can still smell them on my skin after a good 8 hours, maybe more. Yes, they are expensive but honestly they only need to be sprayed once or possibly twice daily, depending on what you're doing. The scent lasts even longer on clothing.
