Last week I share some expensive beauty products worth the money (post here) and today I want to share some that are NOT worth the money. Please don't be offended if you love these products - this is simply my opinion. I'm not saying that they are bad products, more a case of there being other, less expensive products out there that perform just as well, if not better, at a lower price point.
Tatcha The Serum Stick: I just think this is a pretty pointless! Yes, it's balmy and nourishing but it's no better than liquid serums. It's marketed as a product that you can apply anytime, anywhere but it won't penetrate through makeup, plus it needs to be patted in and has a greasy texture so it isn't a product that will be suitable for top ups on the go if you wear makeup. It's expensive, less convenient than a liquid serum and difficult to fit into a skincare routine. Please tell me if you have used this and your thoughts!
K18 Airwash Dry Shampoo: This is not a 'bad' dry shampoo, in fact it works really well if you apply in very, very small amounts. My issue with is that it makes my hair feel very dry overall - very brittle and it really just feels horrible to touch. It is very easy to overdo it and instead of giving you an extra day or two before washing my hair, it makes me want to wash it immediately! The best dry shampoo that I have found that doesn't leave the hair feeling full of product and actually works to make the hair feel cleaner is from Moroccanoil.
Augustinus Bader The Rich Moisturiser: Please don't misunderstand, I love this product but do I think that it's necessary to spend this much on a moisturiser? No! I have mature and dry skin and this definitely nourishes my skin but there are others that don't cost an arm and leg and work equally as well (see post here).
Kayali Capri In A Bottle: I don't want to say Kayali fragrances on the whole because I have only tried this one and I know that so many people love them. This perfume is almost £80 for 50ml and it simply doesn't last on my skin. I cannot smell it within 30 minutes of spraying it and neither can anyone around me. I have tried much more affordable fragrances that last so much longer on my skin. It's so disappointing! Please tell me if you have tried other Kayali fragrances and what the wear time is.
Tom Ford Cream & Powder Eye Colour: I actually think that these are now discontinued! In any case, they are beautiful products but there are so many similar products that perform just as well (if not better) that it's unnecessary to spend so much on an individual eyeshadow.
I'd love to hear your thoughts on these products and also which expensive products you feel are not worth the money?
Thanks for reading!
