The best of my Space NK and Harvey Nichols Advent Calendars....

The best of Space NK and Harvey Nichols Advent Calendars 2023

Last October while I was in bed feeling very ill,  I treated myself to two Advent Calendars - one from Space NK and one from Harvey Nichols. Both offered amazing value - worth well over £1k and priced at less than £300. I started to open them on Instastories daily and after two days I stopped due to losing a close family member. They remained unopened for most of December (although I'll admit that I ate my chocolate one!), but I eventually opened them all over the holiday break and I have my top picks to share with you all. If I'm being entirely honest, I'm unsure which products are from which calendar, but I know that the Harvey Nichols one contained a lot of fragrance options, which is why I bought it. Let's get into the stand out products...

Necessaire The Body Serum: When this brand hit the scene, everyone was raving about it. The first products I tried was the hand cream, which was in an Advent Calendar last year and I felt quite 'meh' about it. There was nothing special about it so I didn't buy anything else from the brand, but I really love this body serum!

Escentric Molecules 01: This smells differently on everyone because it is made with just one note: Iso Super E Molecule. I have received quite a few compliments when wearing this - I find it quite woody and masculine but when my husband wore it, neither of us could smell it on him. I have 02 also but prefer this original 01 and have a travel case for it so am delighted with this refill.

Tatcha Dewy Skin Mist: It's quite a while since I had a bottle of this and I've been reminded why I love it so much! It does exactly as the name suggests and gives the skin a dewy look when used as a finishing spray, or it can be used as part of your skincare routine or to refresh makeup throughout the day. My favourite way to use it is as a finishing spray, after doing my base but before applying mascara or liner because they will smudge otherwise.

Neom Perfect Night's Sleep Pillow Mist: I had used this previously but had forgotten just how much I loved it until I found it in the calendar. Thee scent is subtle, yet enough to hep me drift off to sleep very quickly. My only niggle is that it only contains 30ml so I have ordered a backup already!

Acqua Di Parma Shower Gel, Body Lotion & fragrance: This trio was a real treat and a great way to test the fragrance, which I love! It's a fresh scent with a mixture of citrus and woody notes with a hint of spice. It smells expensive, if that makes any sense, and I now want full sizes of all three products!

Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask: Another product that I haven't used in a while, but love! This is super nourishing and reviving. It's the perfect pick me up product for when skin is parched, dull or just in need of some T.L.C. It can be used overnight or as a regular mask for a hit of moisture - I prefer the former.

111 Skin Rose Gold Illuminating Eye Masks: I love an eye mask even though I don't see them as a necessity. That being said, there are some days when I need a pick me up and an eye mask always help. These particular ones soothe, hydrate and brighten the under eye area - perfect for the festive season where there were plenty of late nights, which I am not used to!

U Beauty Super Hydrator: I did a post on this here. This sends moisture to where it's needed most and contains super nourishing and hydrating ingredients, such as fives sizes of Hyaluronic Acid, Squalane, Peptides, Avocado Oil and more. It really does live up to its name and I just wish that a bigger bottle was in the calendar as I know I'll use this quite quickly!

Slip Pure Silk Scrunchies: I made the switch to silk pillowcases and scrunchies around four years ago and have never looked back. They are much less damaging on the hair, which in turn helps with hair loss and split ends. I like these slim ones for when I need my hair to stay put for quite a while as I find that the larger ones can sometimes slip out or not hold my hair as tightly (I don't want to overstretch them as I made that mistake with one, which I eventually had to bin). If you tie your hair back, I'd highly recommend using silk scrunchies, especially these slim ones if you don't like the look of the bigger ones.

Jo Loves Pomelo Paintbrush: I absolutely ADORE this scent and have been through a number of bottles, so I was delighted to find this paintbrush in my calendar as it is ideal for my handbag and I can buy refills when it runs out. It's such a fresh and uplifting fragrance that I can't help but feel happy when I wear it.

Did you have any Advent Calendars last Christmas? I'd love to hear what your favourite products were!
