Kérastase is my favourite haircare brand! I have used (and still use) others but this is the one that I will return to time and time again and I always have a few products from the brand in my stash. I personally find the products to be very effective and I have used many of the ranges in the last 25 years, from Genesis when I suffered a lot of hair loss, to the Resistance range for damaged hair, Blond Absolu when my hair was very balayaged and the Premier range for decalcifying and strengthening the hair. Therefore, when the new Gloss Absolu range was launched, I couldn't wait to try it because my hair is naturally quite dry and frizzy and this range promises 4 days of frizz-free hair. Could this possibly be true?
The Gloss Absolu range is targeted at those with long hair that is dry, dull and prone to frizz. If you have dry hair, you will probably find that it looks dull, lacking in any shine or gloss without the right products. Add in frizz and it really is a delight to behold (speaking about my hair here!), so you will relate to the search for the right products to nourish the hair, make it shine and control the frizz but without being heavy or making the hair greasy. I really don't ask for much! Could this range be the answer?
Gloss Absolu Shampoo: This shampoo combines Glycolic Acid, which smooths the cuticles of the hair, thereby adding shine because a smooth surface will always look more luminous, with Hyaluronic Acid, which reduces frizz and hydrates the hair. It also contains Wild Rose in Oil, which not only adds a great scent but also nourishes the hair and tames frizz. I love that this shampoo is a gel rather than a cream because it really feels like it cleans the hair without there being any leftover residue. It also lathers well and rinses easily for hair that is left feeling both clean and light. The scent is beautiful because it has some citrus notes alongside the rose.
Gloss Absolu Insta Glaze Conditioner: This combines the 3 key ingredients featured in the shampoo that aim to reduce frizz and add gloss. The texture is creamy but not overly thick or heavy. It is applied to towel-dried hair - I apply from the ears down through the lengths, and left for around 5 minutes before rinsing thoroughly. I can instantly feel that my hair is more manageable and I find that I can get a wide tooth comb through it with ease.
There is a heat protectant included in the range, which could be used at this point but I haven't bought that as I have several similar products so it would be unnecessary at the moment - am I becoming a minimalist??
Gloss Absolu Glaze Drops Hair Oil: This is a nice lightweight oil that can be used on damp hair before drying or `s a finishing step on dry hair. Only 3/4 drops are needed - depending on the length of your hair and density. I love the scent and it really is the perfect finishing touch for frizz-free, glossy, high-shine hair.
I absolutely love this trio of products. I have found that my hair looks smooth and glossy with frizz-free ends and feels bouncier somehow. The products give a salon finish at home! I do blow dry my hair when I use these products, rather than letting it air dry, and they eliminate the need to use a straightener to tame frizz. I have also used my Air Wrap to achieve a wave and my hair still looked glossy and free from frizz! I wash my hair twice a week so haven't seen the results after 4 days but certainly, the products leave the hair frizz-free and glossy for 3 days. I'm very happy with the Gloss Absolu range and recommend it to anyone with a hair type like mine!
Do you have frizzy hair? What's your favourite haircare brand? I'd love to hear!
