2023 Hall of Fame: Skincare

2023 Hall of Fame: Skincare

Every year I like to do a roundup of my favourite products from the year - I generally only use products that I truly love, so we're talking top ten here because otherwise this would be a book rather than a blog post! Today, I'm focusing on skincare....

Dermalogica Precleanse Cleansing Oil*: I fell back in love with this product this year. It gently and effectively breaks down makeup in an instant, doesn't sting my eyes or leave them cloudy and also leaves the skin feeling soft but not like there's a film on it.

Lancôme Absolue Precious Cells Cleansing Oil In Gel*: I adore this entire Absolue line because it leaves my skin so soft and plump. This is a beautiful cleanser due to the texture of being an oil in gel, so it breaks down makeup (if you only want to use one product to remove makeup and then cleanse the skin), washes away easily and leaves the skin feeling soft, clean and plump without any tight or stripped feeling.

Caudalie Grape Water: This is such a simple, yet effective product. It's so refreshing and hydrating on the skin, the mist action is very fine so you don't need to worry about your face and hair being saturated when you spray it. It's super affordable compared to a lot of facial mists and works equally as well!        It's already a bargain but you can an extra saving by using my code BEAUTYLYMIN at the checkout on Look Fantastic.

Pat McGrath Labs Divine Skin Rose 001™ The Essence: My dry skin ADORES this, but even those with oily or combination skin could use it and probably skip a moisturiser because it leaves the skin so silky soft and hydrated. It's unlike other essences in so far as it isn't just watery in texture, but feels like a serum mixed with essence. As soon as I apply this, my skin breathes a sigh of relief at the comfort it brings. It brightens as well as hydrates and soothes. An epic product, if a little pricey!

Sunday Riley Good Genes: I have used this for coming up to eight years (although it was the lactic acid version initially), and I love it.  It contains glycolic acid, which works really well with my skin to gently but effectively exfoliate and reveal radiant, renewed skin. I use a few times a week and even thought I have sensitive/reactive skin, I've never had any adverse reaction. It's a staple for me and I always have at least one backup!

L'Occitane Immorteelle Reset Serum*: This is such an amazing serum for night time. I've raved about it many times on the blog, simply because it works! Skin looks more radiant and rested the morning after use, but also with consistent use skin is brighter, plumper and firmer and with improved texture, If you haven't tried it, I really recommend that you do!

This Works Evening CBD Booster:  This was a surprise for me because I had never tried any CBD products prior to this and didn't know what to expect but I was thrilled with the results. It contains antioxidants but also citric, lactic and tartaric acids, all of which combine to gently exfoliate the skin but also balance and calm. It can be used alone or a few drops mixed with moisturiser to ensure that the skin is left soft, smooth and super moisturised.  Save 21% on Look Fantastic with the coe BEAUTYLYMIN.

Kiehl's Super Multi-Corrective Cream:  This is a truly beautiful moisturiser with seven benefits: to improve the firmness and elasticity of the skin, refine the skin, boost radiance, improve skin tone and hydrate. It certainly does all of these, particularly improving the firmness, radiance and elasticity of the skin. It's rich in texture but absorbs well and doesn't pill when layered with other products. Makeup also applies beautifully over it. I was initially gifted this but have gone on to repurchase several times.              Save 21% on this and may other brands and products by using the code BEAUTYLYMIN at the checkout on Look Fantastic.

Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cream*: This is a classic for a reason! It's honestly one of the best all rounder moisturisers that I think everybody could use and would benefit from. It's surprisingly lightweight and the ultimate in hydrating creams. It's so gentle that I think even the most sensitive of skins could use it  - I began using it after my skin felt burnt when I had Covid and pneumonia. It was the only thing that I could put on my face. It was tested on people who live in extremely cold areas, but also ones of extreme heat and all had the same hydrating results. It really does live up to it's name and is the ultra facial cream.      Again, my BEAUTYLYMIN code works on this too!

Dermalogica Multivitamin Power Firm Eye Cream*: This is simply an amazing eye cream - it smooths, nourishes and firms the skin in the eye zone, which leaves everything looking fresh and more youthful. Concealer doesn't crease or budge over it, despite its rich texture and it just makes the eye area look more youthful!

I would love to some of your favourite skincare products from 2023!
