Clarins Skin Illusion All In One Concealer review

Clarins Skin Illusion All In One Concealer review

Clarins is one of those classic, dependable, longstanding brands that I've been using products from for over 25 years. Beauty Flash Balm is a staple in my makeup collection. I loved their Instant Concealer and their base products in general, so when I saw that they released a new concealer I knew I had to try it.

Clarins Skin Illusion All In One Concealer is available in 17 shades and is said to be suitable for all skin types. I bought the incorrect shade but I can wear it when not wearing fake tan. I will probably pass it on to my mother who is much fairer than I am because she loves Clarins products, but I've been putting it to the test first.

This concealer offers full coverage and a little goes a long way, so literally just a dot for each under eye. I find that it sets quite quickly so I apply to one under eye, blend and then apply to the other eye. The coverage is a natural matte with some slight luminosity.

This concealer has a pointed tip and quite a large doe foot applicator. It's easy to apply to the inner corner of the eyes and to cover blemishes with precision.

I have dark circles more than I have eye bags so I do like something that will help me look more awake and fresh but I don't like anything too heavy on my dry skin and obviously would favour something that doesn't settle in fine lines.

I have used a brush, a beauty sponge and my fingers to blend this concealer and have found a small, dense brush the best. It instantly erases any darkness with a small amount of product and it is super long-lasting on the skin. I can't fault the coverage and instant brightness it gives to the under eye area but I don't love the feeling of it on my dry skin. It's not super heavy but I like my products to be lightweight - I like to feel like I'm not wearing anything. Bear in mind that my skin is very dry so not everyone will find this. I have concealers that offer coverage but with a lighter, serum texture, which suit my skin better.

For those seeking full coverage and with normal/oily/combination skin, you will love this but sadly it's not for me. I prefer their Instant Concealer for my dry skin.
