Spanx for your face! Omorovicza Ultramoor Mud Mask & Omoressence review

If you have ever worn Spanx, then you will know that your stomach/hips/thighs are totally pulled in and you look tighter, firmer and more toned, right? Well listen up, ladies because today I am going to tell you all about two products; one that will make the skin on your face and neck look and feel tighter and more toned and another that will banish any signs of dehydration! Got your attention? Good! Now let's get started!

If you have read my blog for any amount of time or have seen my instagram (here), you will know that I am a bit of a skincare addict. I really don't mind investing in skincare as long as it gives results. I know through bitter experience that a hefty price tag doesn't always guarantee that a product will work well but there are some brands that are definitely worth the price and Omorovicza is one on them. I first discovered the brand last year & the Thermal Cleansing Balm went straight into my Top Ten Skincare products of 2015. When I reviewed some other products from the brand here, here and here, what really surprised me was how many people commented saying that they hadn't heard of the brand before! Everybody should know about this brand and it definitely deserves more hype because the products that I have tried have all been extremely gentle, yet very, very effective. I cannot think of any skin condition that would not respond well to these products, all of which contain Hungarian thermal water, known for its healing and anti-ageing properties due to being so mineral-rich. All products are free from synthetic fragrance, colours and parabens. As a big fan of the brand, I was absolutely delighted when I was offered the chance to try two of its latest releases: Ultramoor Mud Mask and Omoressence.

Ultramoor Mud Mask: I already own their Deep Cleansing Mask, which is my favourite clay mask because it draws out impurities to deeply cleanse the skin but it doesn't strip it like a lot of clay masks do, so I was curious to try the Ultramoor Mud Mask and wondered how different it could be. This mask has the detoxing/deep cleansing benefits of the aforementioned mask, but it also has the added benefit of tightening the skin. When I first applied the mask, the first thing I noticed was the scent - it was almost like a decongestant and I personally liked it because it helped with my sinuses! It then settled down and the smell was a little funky - I guess because it is a mud mask. I have a very strong sense of smell so others may not find it as noticeable but regardless, it wasn't so off-putting that I couldn't wait to remove the mask! I applied the mask and left it on for around 10/15 minutes and during this time, I could feel my skin tightening but not in an alarming way. It wasn't uncomfortable at all, but it felt like a corset would on your waist, but this was on my face! I removed the mask and my skin looked radiant, glowing and "lifted" and felt very soft to touch. I've never experienced a mask like this before, but I really like the results. If you are in your early 20s and even late 20s, then you don't need this mask so the Deep Cleansing Mask would be your best choice, but anybody from 30 onwards would certainly appreciate the firming and lifting benefits of this product. My mother is in her 60s and absolutely loved this mask when she tried it. She especially noticed a tightness in her neck, which she had never experienced through using just one product before. I have used this product 4 times now and have been wowed each time, I absolutely love it! I will, of course, report back to when I have been using it for a few months but I can't see my opinion changing at all.

Here are the key benefits of this mask, as listed on the Omorovicza site:

  • Essential oils of sage, chamomile, rosemary and rose geranium have a cooling and antiseptic effect on the skin.
  • Marine exopolysaccharides derived from plankton
plump fine lines and tighten collagen fibres, providing an immediate lifting, firming effect.
  • Hungarian Moor Mud is rich in calcium and magnesium carbonates, humic acid and fulvic acid, which purify and detoxify the skin.
  • Hectorite Clay draws out impurities and hydrates the skin.
  • A complex of oligopeptides and amino acids gently
resurfaces the skin, eliminating dead cells for a brighter, smoother and more even-toned complexion.
  • Omorovicza’s patented Hydro Mineral Transference™ mineral delivery system leaves skin firmer, more supple and younger-looking.

I have to say that it lives up to all of its claims. It is expensive at £65/€90 but I would definitely say that it is worth it's price tag. Omorovicza products can be bought directly from their site or from Cult Beauty, Lookfantastic or Sephora. Lookfantastic often have 20% off so keep an eye on there if you are interested in trying the products because it is a great discount on a premium brand.

Omoressence:  I will be totally honest with you and say that I didn't really know what an essence was and at what point in my skincare routine I would use it! I have seen some essences on instagram in the routines of other beauty bloggers and wondered if it was a gimmick/necessity/Princess product. I wouldn't describe it as any of the three now that I have used one. The instructions say to use it after cleansing and before serum, but I use an AHA toner, so I cleanse, tone, spritz and then apply it. It is a watery liquid and I pour a few drops into my hands before patting into the skin and then I leave for a few minutes to absorb (I brush my teeth to pass the few minutes!) and I then apply my eye cream, serum and moisturiser. I have been using this morning and night since receiving it and I have to say that the main benefit that I have noticed is increased hydration - I would go as far as to say that although I still have dry skin (that can't be changed as it is my natural skin type), I no longer have patches of dehydration. I am still using serums/oils and my usual skincare products but this is the only new addition to my skincare regime. My skin looks and feels so much better yet the product is in no way oily or greasy. I don't know quite how this works but I do know that I love it and I am dreading being without it when I go on holiday at the end of the month! The glass bottle is heavy so unsuitable for travel, unfortunately. The bottle contains 100ml and only a few drops are required each time, so although it is expensive at £75/€105/$120, I could see this bottle lasting for around a year which takes the sting out of it somewhat

Overall, I am absolutely delighted to have these products in my skincare collection and I know that I will use every last drop of both of them and will definitely repurchase both with my own money. If Omorovicza is a brand that you would like to try, but are wary because of the expense, then a good place to start would be one of their mini kits, which contain several mini sizes of their products.

I'd love to hear your thoughts on these products or if you have tried any other products from the brand that you think I would like?  Have you used an essence before? Do you wear Spanx?! I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments below!
