My HG makeup products (and a 20% discount on some products!)

My HG makeup products plus 20% discount

Because last week's post on my HG skincare products went down so well with so many of you (post here if you missed it), it got me thinking about makeup and which products would be the first I'd replace if my complete collection disappeared! This actually happened to one of my friends whose bag was stolen from her hand by a cyclist as she waited on the street for a building to open. She said she was more traumatised by the fact that she'd have to replace all of her makeup than everything else in her overnight bag (including her wallet/bank cards/phone etc!). I think it'd be a nightmare because there's no way on earth I could replace it all (unless I won the lotto), so this was a very tricky post for me. But here are my ultimate favourites/most repurchased/first to be repurchased products. If I have a discount code for any of them, I'll include it too! None of these products were gifted to me.

Primer: This is really tricky as I really love a number of primers but the one that I have repurchased most often and, therefore, is the most obvious choice, is Clarins Beauty Flash Balm. I have a full review here but basically I love it because it plumps my skin, diminishes the appearance of fine lines and and makes skin look healthy and fresh. All foundations apply beautifully over it. Honorary mention goes to Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Filter, which isn't exactly a primer but looks amazing as a foundation base as it's a complexion booster.

Foundation: I have tried countless foundations over the years but one that I always, always have in collection is Armani Luminous Silk - save 20% by using the code LYMIN at checkout. Full review here. It's one that I can always depend on to make my skin look good, is long-wearing, doesn't highlight fine lines and pores but also doesn't look or feel heavy on the skin. An honorary mention goes to IT Cosmetics CC Cream (review here).

Concealer: Again, a very tricky category! I don't personally need very full coverage but I do want some. I don't like anything that feels heavy, creases or settles in fine lines - I really don't ask for much, do I? If really pushed to pick just one, I'd choose bareMinerals bareSkin Serum Concealer - use the code LYMIN to save 20% at checkout. This concealer really does tick all of the boxes for me! An honorary mention goes to Charlotte Tilbury Magic Away Concealer because I like that it feels almost stretchy on the skin and doesn't crease or settle into my fine lines.

Powder: Until a few years ago,  I never wore powder because it just really aged my dry skin but I now have a I few that I really enjoy using. If I *had* to choose just one, it would be Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Powder as it gives skin a poreless look and mattifies without leaving the skin looking flat or dull. An honorary mention goes to Hourglass Veil Translucent Setting Powder, which is a loose powder that gives the skin a filtered look but looks undetectable on the skin (review here).

Bronzer:  I have loved wearing bronzer for years and own far too many (see post here) so, again, I would find it very hard to just choose one. Instead, I would just one matte and one with a hint of shimmer. Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer is the best matte bronzer with a beautiful, finely milled formula, which means that there's no chance of muddy or dirty-looking cheeks. Hourglass Ambient Lighting Bronzer gives the skin a healthy glow and has a hint of shimmer without the disco ball effect as long as a light hand is used. Both of these look amazing on the eyes too!

Highlighter: Now this is just an impossible task!!  If I had to choose a liquid highlighter, it wouldn't be easy but I'd choose Charlotte Tilbury Beauty Light Wand because it's just so easy to apply and blend. It can also be worn both day and night. For powder highlighter, the most beautiful formula falls between Natasha Denona All Over Glow, Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow and Becca Champagne Pop - I honestly couldn't choose just one!

Blush:  Another very tricky one. There are three blushes I would want to repurchase immediately, although that might not be possible! They are Hourglass Dim Infusion, Nars Orgasm (review here) and By Terry Terrybly Densiliss Blush in the shade Platonic Blonde. All have a beautiful, finely milled formula, which is easy to apply and blend. I love a peachy/pink/coral blush as it just livens up my complexion. Any of these would make me happy but in an ideal world, I'd repurchase all three if all of my makeup disappeared.

Setting Mist: I've tried so many setting sprays but the one that I love most and has the finest mist action is Morphe Continuous Setting Mist, which sets makeup without feeling drying and adds a slight hint of dewiness. It's also super affordable.

Brows: My brows are my least favourite part of my makeup but two products that make the job quick and easy that I would have to replace instantly are Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Definer and Anastasia Beverly Hills DipBrow Gel. The brow definer makes my pathetic, sparse brows look less gappy and defined in an instant and the gel just adds a little more volume and texture.

Eye Primer: The very best eye primer (in my opinion) is Nars Pro Prime Smudge Proof Eye Shaodw Base and I couldn't be without it. It makes shadows bulletproof on my oily lids. Use the code LYMIN to save 20%.

Eyeshadow: This is the most impossible of all of the categories because I absolutely ADORE eyeshadow and despite downsizing my collection maybe twice yearly, I still own an excessive number of palettes. I couldn't be without one of my Natasha Denona beauties and the obvious choice is her Metropolis palette as it really covers all bases - day/night/neutral and colours. Review and swatches here. A more affordable option that I absolutely adore is Too Faced Chocolate Bar Eyeshadow Collection. A single product that I would replace in an instant is Charlotte Tilbury Eyes To Mesmerise in the shade Rose Gold because it's perfect for a quick and easy eye.

Mascara: I love a dramatic, voluminous look to my lashes and I really do love a few mascaras but if I could only purchase one, it would be Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara. This ticks all of the boxes for me - voluminous lashes, non-smudgy, doesn't make my lashes crispy, very black and is easy to remove.

Eye Liner: If I am wearing lash extensions, I never wear eye liner but other than that, I'd feel naked without liquid liner! The best that I have found to work on my watery eye/oily lid combination is Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Liner (save 20% by using the code LYMIN). I know that I can depend on this liner not to end up all over my lids, crease or disappear. I also love the fine nib so I can create a feline flick easily.

Lip Pencil: I generally wear a nude lip and the lip pencil, which I have repurchased most often is Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat in the shade Pillow Talk (the original shade, I haven't tried either of the new shades). This matches my lips perfectly and the formula is so easy to apply - it doesn't drag on my lips or feel drying.

Lipstick: I just can't choose only one! I adore Charlotte Tilbury Kim K-W so that would have to be repurchased immediately but I also couldn't be without at least one Pat McGrath lipstick. I adore the formula of them and if I had to choose just one, it would be Donatella. Both of these lipsticks are easy to wear because they look good whether I'm wearing a lot of makeup or just a minimal look.

Lip Gloss: I love lip glosses and find a glossy finish much more flattering than a matte finish, in general. Again, I'm kinda cheating and choosing two! I love the formula of Anastasia Beverly Hills Lip Glosses because they have some pigmentation, which not many glosses have, they apply evenly and aren't sticky. I cannot be without Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfectors and always have a backup. They are so easy to apply and top up and give my lips a natural, glossy finish with the feel of a balm - love them!

Again, this probably seems quite excessive and I'm not saying that I could or would replace everything in one hit but I know that this would be a complete collection and although I may *want* more products than this, I really wouldn't *need* any more.

I'd love to hear which products you would replace first if all of your makeup disappeared?
