My most decadent at home facial featuring Omorovicza's new Queen Cleanser and Cream

Omorovicza Queen Cleanser review, Omorovicza Queen Cream review, Omorovicza at home facial
Some of these products were gifted to me, without obligation.

At the risk of boring you all, you'll know that I have been very, very ill recently. I'm still nowhere near recovered - that will take a long time, but as soon as I had the strength to do a DIY facial, I was on it! I have two vouchers for facials, but I don't know when I'll get into the city centre to have them, so I decided to bring the spa to me! I used all products from my favourite brand, Omorovicza, including the two new releases: Queen Cleanser* and Queen Cream*. Regular readers will know how much I adore this brand, so it was a no-brainer that if I wanted to make myself look and feel better, that I'd use this brand exclusively. One day, I'll go for an actual Omorovicza facial, but in the meantime, my DIY job worked wonders! To save 15% on all Omorovicza products, enter the code SIOBHAN at checkout (not affiliated).

I started with the Thermal Cleansing Balm, because although I wasn't wearing makeup, I was wearing SPF and I knew that this first cleanse would melt that away, as well as any grime from the day. It's no secret that I adore this cleansing balm because it leaves my skin feeling thoroughly cleansed, but also hydrated, plump and comfortable. I followed this with the new Queen Cleanser*, which is different to all of their other cleansers (I've used them all!) as it's a cream. It's said to be inspired by cold cream cleansers, however if you're thinking that it's like Pond's Cold Cream, think again, because it's more emollient than that, and a pleasure to massage into the skin. It contains moringa seed peptide (but if you don't like the scent of moringa, don't let that put you off because you can't smell it), borage seed oil, linseed oil, evening primrose oil, calendula and Omorovicza's patented Healing Contentrate™. This blend is calming, nourishing and it also strengthens the skin's barrier. It leaves the skin feeling soft, supple, and thoroughly cleansed, without feeling at all stripped or tight. It really is a beautiful cleanser and one that I can see myself using more and more often during the colder months, when my skin needs soothing and nourishing products. I also have to mention the beautiful pink packaging - it's the simple things that make me happy and seeing this on my shelf makes me smile!

To exfoliate before applying a mask, I decided to use Acid Solution*, which is a product that I feel I have been waiting for Omorovicza to release for years, as I love a chemical exfoliant. This one packs a punch, as it contains Salicylic, Glycolic, Lactic and Polyglucoronic Acids, as well as Caviar Lime, which is a naturally occurring AHA. Salicylic Acid is oil soluble and can really penetrate the pores to dissolve sebum, whilst Glycolic and Lactic Acids are surface cleansers, which leave the skin glowing and radiant.  Polyglucoronic Acid helps to hydrate the skin, and it also contains Omorovicza's patented Healing Contentrate™, so this combination balances the skin. Despite sounding like a very potent blend of acids, this actually doesn't make the skin tingle or look red (and I have very sensitive/reactive skin). I apply this using a cotton pad and wait a few minutes before applying a mask.

My mask of choice on this evening was Ultramoor Mud Mask, which I like to call Spanx for the face! I chose this mask because I felt that my skin needed a very thorough cleanse, as I hadn't used a mask in over a month, plus I love how firm and lifted my skin feels after using it, so it's a triple whammy for me! My skin looked so much brighter and clearer after using this, and pores appeared tighter. This is definitely a mask that I never want to be without and I have lost count of the number of times I have repurchased it.

Another product that I couldn't hazard a guess at the number of bottles I've used is Queen of Hungary Mist. This has been a Godsend when I was bed bound, because the medication had my skin ultra dry, so I sprayed this liberally, to hydrate my skin, but also lift my mood as I adore the rose and neroli scent. This balances my skin and always leaves it feeling hydrated, so it's the perfect product to use after.a mud mask, but also just throughout the day, or even before or after applying makeup.

Another product that I've been repurchasing for five years is Omoressence. I use to think essences were gimmicks, but this proved me wrong. I pat a few drops on to my face, and then wait 2/3 minutes, before proceeding with my routine. This really is the perfect antidote to dehydrated skin.

I don't usually suffer from very dark circles, but mine were out of control when I was really ill - they weren't just dark, but they were purple and red too - even my lids were a different colour to my face, so I knew that the perfect product to use was Illumineye C*. This contains Vitamins A, C and E, as well as hyaluronic acid and polyglutamic acid, so it doesn't just brighten the skin, it really hydrates and plumps it, and the Vitamin A helps to reduce fine lines. It's a wonder product!  It also absorbs easily and doesn't give the skin milia.

Instead of layering a few serums (as I was fading at this stage), I decided to go for one serum that does it all: Gold Night Drops, which nourish, heal and strengthen the skin. They also make the skin feel more elasticized and supple. Expensive, but totally worth it.

Finally, I applied the star of the show; the new Queen Cream*. I know that this is marketed as a day cream, but I find the balmy texture perfect for night-time use too. It's a texture unlike any other moisturiser I've used previously, as although it's rich, it absorbs easily and doesn't feel greasy, plus the moisturising effects can be felt for hours afterwards. When I use this during the day, I have no need to use a primer before applying makeup, which is unheard of for me! It contains Borage Seed Oil, Linseed Oil and Evening Primrose Oil, which combine to protect the skin's barrier, but they also nourish the skin and leave it feeling supple, more elasticized and generally more youthful. A little goes a long way with this, so although it is expensive, one tub will last for months.

Afterwards, my skin felt dreamy - smooth, soft and plump, plus it looked radiant and glowing. I needed this facial. I massaged all of the products as much as my arms would allow me, because that always helps with blood flow (plus that's what happens when I get a facial). I'm going to make the time to do this once a week, because I could really see and feel the results, plus it gave me a much needed boost and made me feel better in myself. It's worth taking the time, if you can, for a little bit of self care - whether it's a facial, painting your nails, having your favourite meal, watching your favourite film - all of these things are good for the soul. If you can manage to do them all in one evening/afternoon - even better!

For me, yet again, it's another two winners from Omorovicza. The brand can do no wrong in my eyes and they just get better with every release! I just wish they would do an Advent Calendar - maybe next year!

Do you do DIY facials or are you back in the salon for all of your treatments? I'd love to hear! I'd also love to hear your thoughts on the new Queen products?
