Top body mist picks for summer...

 

I'm a fragrance addict - there's never a day that goes by that I'm not wearing perfume, even if it's a duvet day. I just love how fragrance can lift the mood or bring comfort and of course, bring back memories. My entry into daily fragrance back in the day came in the form of body mists and I'm still partial to them, particularly in summer when I favour a lighter scent. I want to share my favourites with you today.

Byredo Bal D'Afrique: As body mists go, this is on the pricier side however it contains 100ml of product. The scent is beautifully fresh with top notes of bergamot, blackcurrant, African marigold and lemon, and base notes of black amber, musk, tonka bean and vetiver.  It opens as a fresh scent and settles as a woody/musky scent that isn't too overpowering. I absolutely love this and think it would be suitable for year round use. The bottle is glass and heavy, so it wouldn't be suitable for on the go.

Olaplex Signature Hair & Body Mist: I love to use Olaplex hair products and love the salon fresh scent that they have, so when I saw this body mist released last month, I had to buy it. This is a refreshing, zingy scent as it combines grapefruit, mint, sage and ginger. This can be used on both the hair and body to feel instantly invigorated. The bottle is plastic and lightweight so it's handy to pop in your handbag.

Éalu Body Essence: This isn't just a body mist as it also contains glycerin and vitamin E, among other hydrating ingredients, so it will hydrate as well as add a beautiful scent. Éalu's signature scent gives holidays vibes as it combines jasmine and coconut, which instantly transports me to warm summer evenings. This is especially great when layered over their body drench, which makes the scent last longer.

Phlur Heavy Cream: I know that heavy cream will make you think of a cloying scent, which would be too much for summer but whilst this body mist is sweet, it's also light. It combines marshmallow with orange, lemon, jasmine, coconut and vanilla among other notes. It's a rich scent but it isn't heavy and settles into a lighter fragrance. I have had a lot of compliments while wearing this body lotion this summer.

Jo Malone Wood Sage & Sea Salt: Whilst the Éalu scent above reminds me of the beach, this scent makes me think of the sea side - the fresh sea air, where you can almost smell the salt and driftwood. It combines salt with citrus and a hint of musk. Very refreshing and not at all overpowering, it instantly makes me feel like I'm at the coast breathing in the sea air!
