Summer Body Preppin'

Sol De Janeiro Brazilian Bod Buff review

People either love to talk about the weather or find it boring - either way, it's been hard not to notice that in the space of four weeks, we went from snow to a mini heatwave! As soon as the sun comes out and we shed the winter layers, it quickly becomes apparent that our limbs need a bit of T.L.C. after being hidden away for around 6/7 months! Today I want to share the products that I reach for when I'm getting ready for my skin being exposed!

Body Scrub:

I use a body scrub weekly all year round because I fake tan weekly but what I love about Sol De Janeiro Brazilian Bod Buff is that it also doubles as a mask. It has a light texture that exfoliates the skin well but without being so gritty that it risks tearing the skin. With the same pistachio/caramel scent as the rest of the line, this screams summer! To use it as a mask (ideal for the chest or back area if you suffer from congestion there), it is applied to dry skin then you wait for 10 minutes (watching Youtube in my case) before scrubbing and rinsing to reveal soft, smooth skin! This is exclusive to Cult Beauty here. Have you seen the new Glow Oils from Sol De Janeiro? They'll be definitely on my summer wish list!

Body Moisturisers:

I go between two body moisturisers when I want to up the ante before exposing my limbs to the world! For my bum and thighs, I use Sol De Janeiro Bum Bum Cream, although I'd love to use it everywhere from the neck down to my toes! I find that this beautiful body cream makes my skin feel more elasticized. I don't think that any cream can completely get rid of cellulite but this one definitely makes my skin feel firmer. I always have a body oil on the go and my current go-to is Omorovicza Firming Body Oil. I love the scent (very different from the Sol De Janeiro products!), which is very invigorating due to the rosemary, geranium and chamomile it contains. This oil keeps my skin feel soft and supple with its skin-loving ingredients of Vitamin E, Almond, Calendula and Apricot oils. It absorbs quickly but its nourishing effects can be felt all day.

Foot Care:

This is an area that I really need to pay attention to after months of them being covered in socks! My favourite foot scrub is Margaret Dabbs Exfoliating Foot Mousse, which is gritty enough to lift away dead layers of skin but the texture also means that it doesn't tear the skin. Afterwards, I apply Margaret Dabbs Intensive Hydrating Foot Lotion, which is probably my favourite ever foot cream because it's non-greasy but packs a punch in terms of moisture. The combination of these two products leave my feet really soft and smooth. The foot lotion is also anti-inflammatory so if you suffer from sore, tired feet, I would recommend trying this.

One final addition is CND Solar Oil, which contains Jojoba Oil and Vitamin E. I dab a little of this on my nails and massage into the cuticle area and nails until it's full absorbed. This nourishes nails to help prevent breakage but it also moisturises the cuticle area, which prevents sore hangnails. This oil is a must have in the warmer months, in particular.

Did you enjoy the mini heatwave? What do you do to prep your skin/body for the summer months? I'd love to hear!
