My favourite discoveries of 2022...... so far!

Anything marked with a * was kindly gifted to me, without obligation.

I always like to do a check in mid-year to see what products have stood out to me in the previous six months. To be honest, this year I didn't expect there to be a huge amount as I've really cut down on my spending as I try to use up the products I have. When I started to compile this list, I was surprised by how many products have really stood out to me. Some were kindly gifted to me (marked with a *), others, I bought myself. I'll link to any full reviews.

Filorga Créme Universelle*:  Described as a multi-purpose cream, this moisturiser is suitable for both the face and body, however I used it only on my face because I loved it so much and wanted to make it last. That said, it would be ideal for a person who is going travelling, or going away with hand luggage only, as it really is nourishing and could be used all over. It strengthens the skin's barrier and repairs any damage done by external aggressors. I have a full review here, but basically, if you want baby soft skin, have irritated skin, or very dry skin, you need this in your life!

Kiehl's Super Multi-Corrective Cream*: I've used two pots of this moisturiser and it made a very visible difference to my skin. It soothes and repairs the skin, but the biggest difference I noticed was in the elasticity of my skin. With consistent use, this cream makes my skin bouncy, firm, radiant and looking youthful. There's a definite difference in the appearance of fine lines, and overall my skin just looks and feels better. Other people have commented on it too, even though I've been terribly ill and on a lot of medication, which tends to take its toll on my skin. If I had to choose one moisturiser to use for the rest of my life, I think it would be this! Full review here.

Kiehl's Super Multi-Corrective Eye Zone Treatment*: This is simply divine! It has a light texture that absorbs easily, however it really packs a punch in terms of hydration. It minimises the appearance of fine lines by plumping the skin and making it look smoother. I find that concealer applies very easily over this, without creasing, but I'm also very confident in my skin when using both this and the moisturiser and will happily go makeup-free. Full review here.

Dermalogica Circular Hydration Serum*: Possibly the best hydrating serum I've ever used! This serum has been a staple in my routine for the past few months, and it shows in my skin. Despite the change in weather (sort of....still waiting on the heatwave that we're being told about!), my skin hasn't been showing any signs of dehydration and doesn't feel tight in the morning, which I attribute to this serum. It layers well (no pilling),  and my skin is calm and comfortable. Full review here.

Biossance Squalane & Omega Repair Cream: Another moisturiser that I've been loving and I love this brand in general (apart from the cleanser). This moisturiser is perfect for skin that is both dry and dehydrated because it contains hyaluronic acid, but it also contains squalane, ceramides and shea butter; all of which help to nourish dry skin. I find that it applies well over other products and my skin is instantly soft to touch, but this feeling lasts all day, rather than only a few hours. A little goes a long way with it too. FOREO UFO 2*: This really is a brilliant tool for so many people, as it gives the look and feel of a facial in two minutes! So many people lead busier than ever lives these days and this will slot perfectly into their routine, as there isn't really anyone who can say that they can't allow themselves two minutes in a week. There's a variety of masks available, depending on your skin type and needs, and you can do it n the shower, in bed - basically anywhere, and the results are outstanding! I have a full review here.

Bite Beauty Agave+ Nighttime Vegan Lip Therapy: It's so sad to see another brand go bust, especially one that had only reached our shores in recent times. I used a few tubes of the original lip mask, but it was very difficult to get out of the tube, so I love that this is in a pot with a mini spatula. I've been using this every night for the past few weeks and my lips are loving it. I was taking medication that dried out everything - my skin, hair, lips, nails etc, but this has been my saviour!

Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Skin Foundation: I'm not always the biggest fan of Charlotte's foundations (they just don't always suit my skin), however this one is everything I want in a foundation - medium coverage, lightweight, skin-like finish and gives a radiant look. It makes my skin look like I've had a facial beforehand and am using all of the right products all of the time. It's pretty much perfect! Full review here.

Nars Light Reflecting Foundation: A foundation with skincare benefits! I love the finish this gives the skin - it almost looks filtered, yet natural at the same time. For dull skin days, this is the perfect antidote! Full review here.

Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Skin Sun-Kissed Glow Bronzer: I love a cream bronzer, but the texture of this one blends into the skin and looks so natural, that it doesn't look like you're wearing bronzer as such, you just look sunkissed. It also doesn't look greasy or shiny, as the formula is almost cream to powder. It has a lot of claims and percentages with it (as all of Charlotte's products do!), but I can confirm that it's humidity-proof because I used it on holiday and my makeup didn't budge (in the evenings, as I don't wear makeup during the day on holiday). Full review here.

YSL NU Bare Look Tint*: This is the perfect summer product for those who want that 'your skin, but better' look. I can apply this with my fingers and it blends into the skin so easily. With one layer, I can still see my freckles, however a second layer will add more coverage. It also has skincare benefits, as it's comprised of 90% skincare ingredients. It doesn't look greasy on the skin, and doesn't need powdering on my dry skin, but those with more combination or oily skin, might find that powder is necessary. It's the perfect daily product to wear throughout Spring and Summer.

Kérastase Chroma Absolu hair products: I will have a full review of the products in this range coming soon, but if you live in a hard water area, or have old copper piping in your house, these are the products for you. They use lactic acid to gently exfoliate the hair and this really helps to brighten your colour, whether dyed or natural. I have a review of the gloss here, but the rest of the range will be reviewed soon!

Jo Malone Sea Daffodil Cologne: This was a limited edition release in Spring, but I would love it if was part of the permanent lineup! It is a clean, fresh, musky and powdery fragrance - it smells different as it settles on the skin. The notes include mandarin orange, sea daffodil, ylang ylang, sandalwood and vanilla. It's kind of a tropical fragrance, but not quite your typical summer scent. It also lasts very well on the skin - I can still smell it after a good 8 hours.

Armani Prive Indigo Tanzanite EDP*: This is definitely a unisex fragrance (but I'm not sharing!). It's woody, sensual and warm, but not overpowering. The blend of notes is almond accord, bergamot essence and amber among others, but these will give you an idea of what it offers. The bottle is stunning, weighty, and the fragrance both smells and looks expensive! Full review here.

Fenty Skin Hydra'Reset Instant Recovery Glycerin Hand Mask: Finally, a hand product. I adore hand creams and use them several times a day, but I love that this is specifically designed for overnight use. It's very rich, so really is a last step at night product. Hands feel instantly softer and smoother. It's 40% glycerin, and also contains oils and butters, so it's ultra-nourishing, and I wake to super-soft hands.

That's everything that has really stood out to me so far this year! I'd love to hear your mid-year favourites?
