Dehydrated skin? You need some Dermalogica in your life....

Dermalogica Hyaluronic Ceramide Mist Review, Dermalogica cellular hydration serum review
These products were kindly gifted to me, without obligation, as part of their *skinfluencer programme.

Next year will be 20 years since I first began using Dermalogica products! If that isn't testament to how much I love the brand, I really don't know what is! As I have mentioned before, it's the only brand that I used for 6 months prior to our wedding and also had regular facials (I love their face mapping!). I can honestly say, hand on heart, that their releases are getting better and better all of the time, and I have rarely, if ever, been disappointed with a purchase. I am fortunate enough to be part of their #skinfluencer programme, which means that I am kindly sent some of their new releases, but I also purchase products with my own money (and my husband now uses some too!). So, today I'm going to discuss two new releases, which are aimed at hydrating and replenishing the skin: Hyaluronic Ceramide Mist and Circular Hydration Serum.

Hyaluronic Ceramide Mist: I've tried a few of their toning mists over the years and repurchased one from the Ultra Calming range many times, but hadn't tried one in a few years, so this was a welcome arrival. I love using a mist in my routine, but it has to actually do something - not just be a water mist. There is a money back guarantee with this purchase - that's how confident the brand is that you will love it! Its aim is to hydrate the skin, and strengthen the skin's barrier. It obviously contains hyaluronic acid (the name is a giveaway!), but it also contains rose water, polyphenols (protect against environmental damage)  and flavonoids (anti-oxidants, which protect against free-radicals, so it's a double whammy with these two), all of which help to hydrate, protect and nourish the skin, as well as lock in moisture. I will say that the mist action isn't the finest on this, but holding it at arm's length will ensure that skin isn't overly saturated. I've been using this for around two months now and I love it. It has a very delicate rose scent, which I find calming, but more importantly, my skin is feeling hydrated and supple, even after using retinol, strong acids or clay masks. It's ideal for refreshing the skin during the day, and although I didn't take it on holiday (due to the size), my skin was well prepped and didn't feel parched, and as soon as I returned, it was straight back into my routine. What I really love is that post-holiday, my skin is still plump and hydrated, whereas sometimes it can initially feel a little dry as I go from re-applying a moisturising SPF every hour or two, to just doing skincare twice daily, but with the inclusion of this, my skin is comfortable and happy. A definite thumbs up from me!

Circular Hydration System review

Circular Hydration Serum: This was in my holiday skincare bag, because from first use, I knew I couldn't be without it! If you're wondering about the word circular in the name, unlike a lot of other hyaluronic acids, which will deliver a. boost of hydration, which doesn't actually last for the day, this one aims to prevent evaporation, so that skin will constantly feel hydrated. It contains a blend of Hyaluronic Acid (which deeply penetrates the skin), Polyglutamic Acid (which is actually more powerful at holding water that Hyaluronic Acid, which holds 1000 X its weight in water), a blend of amino acids and an algae-infused matrix, as well as some postbiotics. It really is a powerful combination of ingredients that instantly quenches the skin's thirst and relieves any tightness or uncomfortable feeling. I only need to use a few drops to cover my face and neck, and I have to say that the difference is incredible. I don't feel the need to use a separate neck serum, as I did previously, plus my skin never feels parched - even when abroad in temperatures of the high 30s. I was using too much initially (which I'm sometimes guilty of), but the only adverse effect is that I was flying through the product unnecessarily quickly, so I've eased off. It's perfect as both a day & night serum, which I did on holiday, but now that I'm home, I'm using this in the morning and a different, dedicated night serum - mainly so that it will last longer! If you have dehydrated, irritated, unhappy skin, I really urge you to give this a go. It totally lives up to its hype. Another absolute winner for me!
