My new lipstick favourites: Clinique Pop Lip Colour & Primer

When I first saw the latest lipsticks from Clinique appear on blogs and on youtube a few months back, I was intrigued because they claimed to moisturise for up to 8 hours, as well as prime them and obviously add colour. I wondered if they could possibly live up to their claims but the great reviews kept on coming so I had to try one for myself.

There are sixteen shades to choose from and the first Pop Lip Colour & Primer lipstick I bought was Wow Pop, which is a very bright pink, which I thought would be perfect to wear all year round, but primarily in Spring/Summer. First of all, I like the packaging - it isn't as luxurious as Charlotte Tilbury or YSL packaging, but it is neat and functional because the colour of the lipstick is on the bottom of the tube, which makes it very easy to grab the one you want if you have a multitude of lipsticks.

When I first wore the lipstick, the first thing that struck me was how comfortable it was on the lips - feels like a balm but much more pigmented and better staying power than a balm lip pencil. The second thing that I noticed was that I only needed one swipe to completely cover my lips. When the colour faded, my lips were still left with a stain that lasted for another few hours, so I would estimate a 4 hour colour on my lips if I eat and drink during that time. I loved Wow Pop so much that I knew I needed more from the range (to be honest, I want them all!).

I now have a total of five of these lipsticks (thanks to some birthday gifts and discount codes!) and although they are quite similar, I think there is a place for all of them in my collection. I have three pinks in total: Wow Pop, Sweet Pop and Fab Pop. Sweet Pop is a slightly softer bright pink than Wow Pop and Fab Pop is a more wearable, everyday pink. Melon Pop is a beautiful peachy pink that is perfect for Spring/Summer and Beige Pop is a really beautiful pink nude (not beige, as the name would suggest) that I will wear all year round.

At €19.50, I think these lipsticks are competitively priced because they really do act as a balm, primer and lipstick in one. I haven't found that they cling to any dry patches and overall, I am very happy with these lipsticks. Plum Pop is calling my name next because I think it would be perfect for Autumn/Winter.

Do you own any of these Clinique lipsticks? Any shades that you would recommend? I'd love to hear your thoughts on them! Also if you have any of the cheek pops and which shades you would recommend because I don't own any of them but think that they look beautiful!
