I know it's a cliché but I honestly can't believe how quickly this year is going by! I hope that summer weather actually kicks in soon so we don't just go from Spring to Autumn. Regardless, we can't stop the hands of time and whilst this June is nothing like last year in terms of weather, we're still six months into the year! When we reach this halfway point, I always like to look back at the first part of the year and document my favourite discoveries. I actually thought that I hadn't bought very many beauty products this year but when I look at this list, I actually have but it's still an improvement on previous years. The products marked with a * were kindly sent to me but everything else, I bought myself. These are all of the standout new (or new to me) products that I have discovered and loved in 2019, so far.....

Skincare:

Kate Somerville Goat Milk Cleanser: This was love from first use! I love how gentle this is on my skin - it leaves it feeling thoroughly cleansed but not at all stripped and at the same time, doesn't leave any residue on the skin. It feels comforting and hydrating - exactly what I like in a cleanser. Full review here.

Drunk Elephant Slaai Makeup-Melting Butter Cleanser: Another cleanser, although I use this as a first cleanse to remove my makeup. This dissolves every scrap of makeup beautifully as it melts into the skin. I don't wear waterproof mascara so can't comment how well it would work with that but it melts my waterproof liquid liner away. I love how rich and nourishing it feels and it leaves my skin feeling really soft. Full review here.

Dermalogica Intensive Moisture Balance*:  I'm a long term lover of Dermalogica but hadn't tried this moisturiser until earlier this year. This will be a forever repurchased item for me because it is literally perfect for my skin. It is clinically proven to deliver moisture 10 layers deep and while it's nourishing, it doesn't feel greasy on the skin. My (usually parched) skin loves this moisturiser! Full review here.

Clarins Extra Firming Phyto Serum*: Regular readers will know that I referred to this as Spanx for your face because of the lifting/firming and tightening feeling that this gives the skin. It feels cooling on the skin and quite tacky initially but moisturiser layers well over it without any pilling. It works best when pressed into the skin, which also reduces puffiness. An all round seriously impressive product. Full review here.

Erborian CC Eye Cream*: This is a genius product because it adds some coverage, nourishes and smooths the under eye area, plus it has SPF 20 - something that I think all eye creams should have! Concealer layers well over it if some extra coverage is needed, without any creasing or gathering in fine lines. Full review here.

Makeup:

Charlotte Tilbury Eyes To Mesmerise Rose Gold: I literally have not worn any other eyeshadows since I bought this! The soft rose gold shade really flatters my green eyes and I love how easy it is to apply. The formula is creamy but once it sets, it doesn't crease for a good 8/9 hours. I'm all about the easy eye look these days and that's all because of this shadow!

By Terry Lip Expert Shine: I have two of these and I absolutely love them. They're quick and easy to apply and have a much longer staying power than a regular gloss. Non-sticky and comfortable on the lips, these are all round winners. If you prefer a matte finish, those are available too. I just need to get a brighter colour for summer!

Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow Gel: I've used this every time I've applied my makeup since I bought it. Instead of applying from the wand, I use a brush after initially filling my brows with a brow pencil. This gel makes it easy to achieve defined brows but it also works well to achieve fuller brows. It sets everything in place and is budgeproof until removed and doesn't make the brows crispy. Winner!

By Terry Terrybly Densiliss Blush in Platonic Blonde: This really is the crème de la crème of blush formulas - very finely milled and smooth. It applies very evenly to the cheeks and doesn't highlight any areas of texture or pores. I adore this pinky-coral shade, which flatters my medium skin so well.

Body:

Legology Air-Lite Daily Lift For Legs*: This is a brilliant product if you suffer from water retention or you are on your feet all day and have tired legs. It instantly makes legs feel lighter and slimmer and it cools the skin without a tingly feeling. The key is to massage this cream in from the ankles upwards for it to really be effective. I'm almost finished this tube and will definitely be repurchasing.

St Tropez Purity Water Gel: Probably the best fake tan product I have tried in years! Firstly, it's transfer-proof, secondly, it smells like an exotic fruit cocktail and thirdly, it gives the most gorgeous golden glow to the skin. It is the closest I have found to the natural tan that I get in summer. I never believed that I could get dressed after applying tan without feeling gross, but this tan is a game-changer! Try it and you won't regret it! Full review here.

Fragrance:

Galivant Berlin Eau De Parfum*: I first tried a sample of this in the Nomad set, which I reviewed here. I really liked all of the scents but Berlin was my absolute favourite and I was kindly sent a full size 30ml bottle. It smells fresh, spicy and almost powdery with notes of grapefruit, lemon, black pepper, cedarwood and patchouli among others. I have received so many compliments when wearing this fragrance. The Nomad set is great value because it costs £25 but you then receive £25 off a full size bottle plus it's a great way to try all of the scents.

Mugler Angel Eau Croisiere*: This scent is completely different to the previous one because it's very fruity and quite sweet. My husband tells me that I smell like a sweet mango cocktail when I wear this! It isn't sickly sweet and not quite as heavy as the original Angel but if you like fruity scents, you will love this! Full review here.
