Charlotte Tilbury Cryotherapy Skincare Review

Charlotte Tilbury Cryotherapy Skincare Review
These products were kindly gifted to me, without obligation.

If you've read any of my posts over the past 6 weeks, you'll know that I was very ill for 4-6 weeks, beginning in August. What really alarmed me was how my skin reacted, either to the illness, or the medication (it's difficult to tell which, as the meds were changed a few times to find the right combination, but also to try to get rid of the infection completely, which proved to be very difficult. My skin felt like it was on fire, from head to toe, but it was also severely dehydrated - I could not get enough water into me, my lips felt shrivelled up and my hands need constant re-application of hand cream. I even drew blood and had what looked like cat scratches on my arms, but it was actually me doing it, when I was asleep. When I was awake, I was tormented and was constantly applying oils, lotions, mists etc. It was around this time that Charlotte Tilbury released her Cryotherapy range and the P.R. girls very kindly sent me the mask, eye cream and some other products, in the hope that they would help my burning skin. There were also a lot of tears, which lead to very puffy eyes (my Father in Law died and my mother has a stroke in the space of two weeks), so I was very curious about how it would help reduce puffy eyes and a puffy face, in general. How did I get on.....

Cryo-Recovery Face Mask: I have used cryotherapy before (see post here), and found it great for reducing inflammation, and have been tempted to try whole body cryotherapy (although I don't know how long I'd last!), but what I love about this, is that you just put the mask on and it does the work for you. It needs to be put in the freezer for at least 30 minutes, but I personally think that the longer, the better, as it stays cold for longer when it has been in the freezer for at least an hour. After cleansing the skin, you remove the mask from the packet and it has two velcro straps - the first pair are tied around the back of your head and then the second are pulled upwards from under your. chin and sealed on top of your head. Be careful not to catch your hair in the velcro straps! It's a silicone mask, so it's easy to get it to fit your face perfectly, especially with the adjustable velcro straps. It immediately feels soothing and cooling. You can massage the metal beads into your pressure points (which makes me think that it would be brilliant for when you have a migraine). For me, this was the perfect antidote to my burning skin and I basically wanted to keep wearing it, freezing it and re-wearing it (which you can do once you cleans between uses, until you see tarnishing on the mask). Not only was my skin soothed, my eyes were less puffy, and with repeated use, my jawline looked firmer. After using the mask, cleaning it and putting it back in the packet, I continued with the rest of my skincare routine. This really has been a lifesaver for me, for reasons other than beauty. However, I think that if you over-do acids, have an allergic reaction to a product, or just want firmer skin (if you're seeing the beginning of jowls, for example), this is a brilliant product to have in your collection/freezer! My skin is no longer burning, but I'm still using it.

Cryo-Recovery Eye Serum: The perfect morning eye product, as the applicator is cooling, and it contains a type of caffeine, which helps to reduce puffiness. It is so soothing to use, due to the metal applicator, but it's also hydrating, and skin looks firmer, but without the milia that can accompany a rich eye cream. This has really helped on days when I've been crying, but also just on mornings when I've either not slept very well (by reducing puffiness and making the eye area look fresher), or mornings when I've slept longer than I normally would, due to medication. It also immediately cooled and soothed my burning skin, so I actually kept it beside my bed and used it more often than I normally would use an eye cream, but needs must in difficult times. I have continued to use this since finishing my meds, and I find that my eye area looks fresh, but also, my concealer applies very smoothly over it.

I was also kindly sent a mini sample of Serum Crystal Elixir and Super Radiance Resurfacing Facial, which I reviewed here. I absolutely adore the serum, in particular, and am delighted to have it in my life again!

I am extremely grateful to have been sent these products and I already know that I will repurchase both, as I love the effects both give - firming, lifting, soothing and refreshing.

Have you tried any of these products? I'd love to hear your thoughts!
