Sometimes something as simple as a sparkly eye can lift the spirits. That one reason that I love makeup - it can enhance your features but can also hide a multitude when you need to fake it to make it (something that I need t do regularly as a chronically ill person!). Today I want to share some of my favourite sparkly eyeshadows and I'd love to hear what your faves are or if you are strictly a matte eye lover?
Urban Decay Moondust*: The name Moondust came from the fact that the shimmer from these could be possibly seen from space! Space Cowboy is the shade that made these famous, but I have Lithium (medium brown) and Rebel Star (rose gold), both of which are stunning shadows. These can be applied with your finger or a flat shader brush (preferably sprayed with All Nighter Setting Spray first), and the finish is incredible. Amazing pigmentation, super long-wearing and they really bring the party to the eye!
Victoria Beckham Lid Lustre: I've raved about these several times on the blog so they need no introduction. These are very finely milled pressed powders that apply to the lids smoothly and add a sophisticated sparkle. They are particularly great on lids that are no longer as firm as they once were, due to how smoothly they apply - no creasing or emphasising lines and the sparkle is absolutely beautiful! Can be applied with your finger or a flat shader brush, as a stand alone eyeshadow or a lid topper.
Charlotte Tilbury Hypnotising Pop Shot Ultra Violet: I adore this purple shadow as it makes my green eyes pop! It has a smooth, velvety texture and a multi-dimensional finish with a subtle sparkle running through it. If purple isn't for you, there are other beautiful and more neutral shades available.
MAC Dazzleshadow I Like 2 Watch: This definitely brings the party to the eye and is the closest to glitter of all of the shadows in this post but it can be more subtle when worn with a matte base and transition shade. Then again, if you want to go all out with a full on sparkly eye, you can definitely achieve that look with this eyeshadow. I love that it glides on and there are no glitter particles falling into the eyeball, even after hours of wear - very important with sensitive eyes!
