We all know that Charlotte Tilbury makeup is expensive, so if you can find a product that works pretty much in the same way, at a fraction of a price, I think it's good to share! Even better, when you might actually prefer the dupes, but I'll tell you why later. What I'm talking about is her Beauty Light Wands, which I bought as soon as the original was released. I generally prefer cream or liquid products, as my skin is dry, so I was happy when she extended her line to include blushes as well as a highlight. I have only ever raved about these wands but then Sculpted By Aimee Liquid Lights Blush and Highlight Duo came along....
The one bugbear that I have with the Beauty Light Wands, is the mess around the lid and the sponge applicator - there always just seemed to be a lot of waste. That said, it didn't stop me buying them as I loved the formula and ease of use - just a few taps and you're good to go. I bought (and repurchased) Hollywood Spotlight, which is a champagne highlight shade, I also bought Peachgasm blush, as I generally like to wear peachy shades on my cheeks and I recently bought Pillow Talk Medium (I am sooo over this Pillow Talk range, by the way!). I love all three products, so this post is not about slating them at all.
That being said, if you'd like to try a liquid blush and highlight duo, I have to recommend Sculpted By Aimee Liquid Lights Blush and Highlight Duo. This is an Irish brand that was started probably around 2 years ago and is going from strength to strength. What I love about this duo is that there is no messy area around the lid and no doe foot applicator - you just dispense a small amount from the tube and apply to the cheeks, patting in with your fingers.
Both products contain 12ml of product but whereas the Beauty Light Wands are £29 each, the Sculpted by Aimee Set is priced at 23.95 Euros for both products. The formula is pretty much the same, to be honest, so it's a no brainer as long as you like the shades. With Charlotte's wands, there are 6 shades available, whereas there is only one set of two shades from Aimee, although this may change in the future. In terms of shades, I have some swatches below. I don't own Pinkgasm from Charlotte, which is probably closer to the pink shade in the set.

I like that whilst these products are very alike, Aimee hasn't directly ripped off Charlotte - something which I personally hate, which is why I would never buy any of the Aldi or Makeup Revolution 'dupes' of Jo Malone, Benefit, Charlotte Tilbury, Huda, Nars and many more. I am totally against the copying of exact designs etc to make it look like you are buying a different brand. I don't know how Aldi get away with it to be honest and was delighted when Charlotte successfully sued them last year. I couldn't believe it when they ripped the Christmas Coca Cola ad one year - sacrilege! I like when products release brands that will work in a similar manner and compete with a more expensive brand, I just don't like exact copies. Rant over!
If you are a fan of the Beauty Light Wands and would like to save some money, I'd highly recommend trying the Sculpted by Aimee set - available here. If you'd prefer to try Charlotte's Beauty Light Wands, they're available here. If you try both, I'd love to hear your thoughts.
I'm also curious to hear your thoughts on dupes/exact copies of products? Are you a fan?
