L'Oreal Extensionist Mascara and new Infallible Brow products review

L'Oreal Extensionist Mascara review, L'Oreal Infallible Faux Brow review, L'Oreal Brow Lamination Gel review

When it comes to mascara, I think that most people choose high street brands because they have to be changed so often, and L'Oreal is a widely lauded brand due to quality and value. The latest addition to the line is their Extensionist mascara* and they have added a new brow product too, which I was kindly gifted (without any obligation to review) and want to share my thoughts on today.

L'Oreal Extensionist mascara* claims to extend your lashes up to 5mm closer to your eyebrows and give volume and curl. The wand is plastic, curved and slim (as seen in the photo below) - this helps it reach all lashes from the root to tip. L'Oreal Extensionist Mascara review

Now I'll be honest, I didn't measure the distance from my lashes to my brows because once you pass 40, it seems that your brow is getting lower! That being said, I can see length, definition and, most of all, a curl that holds when I use this mascara. The wand size makes it easy to use as the curved shape means I can get right to the root, which gives some lift. Because it's so narrow, it doesn't make a mess and get all over my lid, which I love.

I'm very fussy with mascaras - I like the black to be very black, I have oily lids and watery eyes, so it must be smudge proof but I also don't like crispy lashes, plus it has to be easy to remove. I also like a lot of volume. L'Oreal Extensionist mascara* ticks most boxes - I personally would like more volume however I can appreciate the definition it gives, which makes it the perfect mascara for everyday use for me. I also love the curl it gives my lashes.

The new Infallible Faux Brow* pen has a duo-brush tip, which is ideal for those of us who were overzealous with the use of tweezers back in the day! Brows are my least favourite part of doing my makeup, yet they make a huge difference to the face so I can't ignore them! This duo-brush mimics the effect of brow hairs... on the double, so instead of one brow hair, one stroke gives the look of two. I don't personally love the look of big brows on me but I like the natural look that this creates, which is also long-lasting. I haven't had the opportunity to test the heat-resistant aspect yet because it's been so cold, but I'm hoping over the coming months I'll get the chance to test that claim.

The brows are set with L'Oreal Brow Lamination Gel*, which has a small angled brush, allowing for easy and precise application. I love that this gel doesn't make my brows crispy (that's a pet peeve of mine!) and it gives good hold with one swipe - if you love the lamination look, you can layer it. I know that this will be perfect for pool days on holiday, where I don't like to wear makeup, but want a little something in my brows for some definition on my face!

Have you tried any of these products? I'd love to hear your thoughts! Are you a high street or high end makeup lover? Or is there even a difference these days? (Apart from price! Speaking of which, if you're going to buy any of these products, don't forget to use my BEAUTYLYMIN code on Look Fantastic!)
