REVIEW: Aurelia Probiotic Skincare Miracle Cleanser

Aurelia Probiotic Skincare is a brand that has been on my radar for a while - ever since I first saw the brand on Cult Beauty. The products are free from parabens, sulphates, silicones, phthalates, mineral oils and fragrances and are not tested on animals. I have sensitive skin that is both dry and dehydrated so I was hoping that this cleanser would suit my skin and I was also curious if it would live up its name: Miracle Cleanser is quite the claim!

The cleanser is £34 for 120ml, which is housed in a glass jar and it comes with a bamboo muslin cloth. The first thing that struck me when I opened the jar was the scent. It contains chamomile, eucalyptus, rosemary and bergamot and I personally really like the scent because I find that eucalyptus really helps with my congested sinuses, but I understand that it may not be for everyone. It is different from my usual cleansers because I tend to favour balms and this is a cream, so applying it was different because balms tend to be quite oily and emulsify when water is added but this is just like applying a moisturiser. I used a little too much product initially because I wanted to be sure I was covering my face & neck entirely, but now I realise that a smaller amount is sufficient. I take my time to massage the cream in and then remove it with a warm, wet muslin cloth.

Just before I began to use this cleanser, I had a breakout of epic proportions on my jawline. I have honestly never had a spot so big before - it was about the size of a euro/pound coin and was so swollen and very sore. I thought it would take weeks to get rid of it & even longer for the redness to go, but as soon as I started to use this cleanser, the spot started to heal and within 4/5 days, it was completely unnoticeable. All of the redness had disappeared and the whole are completely healed and repaired. At this point, I knew that this cleanser lived up to the "miracle" part of its name. Since then it has impressed me more & more.

My skin is soft to touch, very clear, glowing and my pores are less visible in my cheek area - this is no mean feat given that I have been on a lot of medication recently which always wreaks havoc with my skin. I couldn't be happier with this product and would wholeheartedly recommend it to everybody. It isn't harsh in the slightest but is very effective and doesn't leave any tightness or areas of dryness on the skin. The healing aspect is the one that has impressed me the most. I have some small scarring from old breakouts and this has faded and overall my skin is very happy. It is the best cleanser I have ever used and I will be repurchasing this for a long time to come.

If I were to have any gripe with it, it would be the jar - I would prefer a tube or pump, purely for hygiene reasons, but that it only a minor gripe & I use a little spatula that came with my Elemis cleanser to take put just the right amount.

I have since bought two more products from Aurelia: Refine & Polish Miracle Balm and Cell Repair Night Oil. It is early days with both of them, but first impressions are great. I now want to try every other product from the brand, with Revitalise & Glow Serum being next on my list.

Have you tried any products from Aurelia? Are you tempted to try this cleanser?
