Post heatwave skin recovery featuring Omorovicza, Charlotte Tilbury & more!

Charlotte Tilbury, Dry Skin, Goddess Skin Clay Mask, Intense Hydrating Booster, Lixirskin, Omorovicza, Omorovicza Midnight Radiance Mask, Omorovicza Ultramoor Mud Mask, Sarah Chapman, skincare,

Now that the intense heatwave has finally left us, it's time to deal with the consequences! Congestion, dullness and dehydration are some of the issues that we are left to deal with so I wanted to share the products that I find most effective in dealing with these issues.

Congested skin:

Sweat, multiple layers of SPF, foundation and more can create a lot of congestion - blackheads, whiteheads etc. To tackle this, a deep cleansing mask is a must. Omorovicza Ultramoor Mud Mask is a brilliant mask that is suitable for all skin types. It clarifies, brightens and firms the skin - pores are refined, skin is almost translucent and it glows like I've just had a facial. If you don't like the tight feeling that accompanies a clay mask when it dries, an alternative is Charlotte Tilbury Goddess Skin Clay Mask. This mask leaves the skin feeling super smooth and baby soft and it's also deeply cleansed. This mask would be ideal for sensitive skin as it doesn't leave the skin looking at all red when removed in the way that some clay masks do. Finally, an innovative product from Lixirskin - Soft Clay Rubber. This is a mask and exfoliator in one, using both chemical and physical exfoliants. I apply it to dry skin, massage it and pat it into the skin and then once it's dry, I rub it off before rinsing thoroughly with warm water. The instructions say that you can squeeze blackheads before rinsing but I don't have very many at the moment. Some people don't like squeezing blackheads, others love it - it's entirely up to your own preference. If you find that your skin is still congested or for an extra deep cleanse, you can then reapply the product as a traditional mask, leaving on the skin for 10-15 minutes before rinsing.

To brighten:

I spoke how brilliant Vitamin C is for brightening your skin in this post. Lixirskin Vitamin C Paste can be used daily but my skin is a little too sensitive for daily use of any Vitamin C product so I like to use it maybe twice weekly in the morning. I warm a small amount of the paste in my hands and then apply to my face, before dampening my hands and massaging in circles. I then leave it for a few minutes (I brush my teeth or dry brush my body for a few minutes) before rinsing. The form of Vitamin C used in this product is L Ascorbic Acid 10% which is a very effective form of Vitamin C, leaving skin bright and radiant.

Another brilliant product to brighten the skin but also clarify and exfoliate it, is Omorovicza Midnight Radiance Mask, which I have raved about many times on the blog. This gel mask gets rid of those pesky little under skin bumps, decongests, refines pores, hydrates and brightens the skin. I literally wake up to better skin every time I use this mask. It's expensive but if you only buy one product from this entire list, it should be this mask as it will answer so many problems.

You will have seen me rave about Oskia Renaissance Mask several times on the blog and with good reason! This mask is packed with natural AHAs and Lactic Acid, which renew and brighten the skin. This is the ideal mask to use for a quick fix as within 10-15 minutes, skin is smooth, soft, plump and glowing.

To hydrate:

To relieve dehydration, a good serum will work wonders, especially when used in conjunction with the exfoliating and decongesting products mentioned in this post. The most hydrating one I have ever used is Sarah Chapman Intense Hydrating Booster. Packed with hyaluronic acid and rose water, this silky serum seriously packs a punch in terms of hydration. Skin is instantly soothed, comfortable, soft and plump but it also stays feeling that way all day. Makeup applies more evenly, without caking or going patchy or being sucked into the skin when skin is hydrated so I really recommend using a hydrating serum daily.
