Banish the signs of late nights with these great makeup picks

Banish the signs of late nights with these great makeup picks

Have you entered my Christmas giveaway here?

We're all a lot busier in December and there's no doubt that having less down time, more late nights and social engagements can show in our faces. I'm talking dull skin, dark circles, tired eyes etc etc.  Fortunately, there are some products that will help hide the signs of our sins!

Rejuvenated Repair & Protect: I absolutely love this brand and have noticed an improvement in my skin over the last 18 months or so that I've been using their products. I always think it's best to treat the skin from within and there's no easier way than with these supplements. Even if you usually find that you get all of your nutritional needs from your food, during party season, when extra sugar, carbs, fats etc are consumed (along with late nights and alcohol or fizzy drinks), these supplements are ideal for ensuring you are getting exactly what your skin needs to feed it but also to support collagen production. I take 3 Skin Perfecting Complex daily and 1 H30 Night Repair in the evening. I find that they really help to prevent inflammation but also help my skin to look plump.

In terms of makeup, I find that heavy or full coverage products are best avoided as the aim is to look fresh and awake!

Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Filter is one of my favourite ever makeup products because it instantly transforms my skin from drab to fab. It doesn't give a disco ball effect, yet it does give my skin some life, blurring the appearance of pores and just giving the skin a fresh, youthful look.

Pat McGrath Sublime Perfection Foundation - it doesn't have to be this exact foundation but something with light coverage will look fresh and help the skin to look alive. This foundation makes skin look smooth and also even in tone. Full review here.

IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Illuminating Concealer is brilliant on days where lack of sleep is showing because it gives pretty much full coverage but it is also illuminating so it brightens the under eye area. It doesn't look glittery but it is brightening and a touch pearlescent and it does a fantastic job at covering dark circles and making me look awake!

Hourglass Ambient Strobe Lighting Blushes are brilliant for dull and tired skin days as they combine a blush shade with a highlighter to give the cheeks a lit from within appearance without looking too unnatural. They are so finely milled, which is brilliant because they don't gather in areas of texture - just a quick sweep transforms the appearance of skin.

Charlotte Tilbury Superstar Lips - again, it doesn't have to be this particular lipstick but I find that a balmy/glossy hybrid is a great option because they instantly lift the complexion. Matte lip options are a no-no on days like this as they make the whole face look dehydrated and more flat.

I also recommend going easy on the eye makeup, just some mascara and avoid smokey eyeshadow shades or liner, which can tend to make eyes look smaller and more tired - not what you need when you are trying to hide the signs of lack of sleep!

What are your go-to products when you want to look more awake? I'd love to hear!
