Charlotte Tilbury Super Radiance Resurfacing Facial & Magic Serum Crystal Elixir Review

Charlotte Tilbury Super Radiance Resurfacing Facial Review, Magic Serum Crystal Elixir Review

I know that I'm quite late to the party on these products and you will probably have read a lot of reviews when they were first released, but quite often, they are more a case of first impressions, rather than actual reviews. I was lucky enough to be sent these products around 5/6 weeks ago and want to share my thoughts on them with you today.

Super Radiance Resurfacing Facial*: Regular exfoliation is key to having radiant skin, and the real key is finding not just the right product for you, but also the right balance, as over-exfoliating compromises the skin's barrier. This product is for once-weekly use, which will suit busy people, and it contains a 15% AHA, BHA and PHA blend. This might sound quite harsh, but it's balanced with hydrating and soothing ingredients, such as Polyglutamic Acid, Hyaluronic Acid, glycerin, aloe vera, avocado oil and more. The acids exfoliate the skin on both the surface (to reveal the skin's radiance), as well as penetrating the pores deeply, for a thorough cleanse. It is applied to clean, dry skin, and left for 20 minutes to work its magic. I personally haven't experienced any tingling any time that I've used this exfoliator-mask hybrid, but my skin is very accustomed to acids. After 20 minutes, I rinse it off with warm water and my skin is left feeling so soft and smooth and looking bright and plump. It is the perfect product for sensitive skin, because the acids are very effective, however the skin isn't stripped, due to all of the hydrating ingredients. This gets a definite thumbs up from me! I also have to mention the packaging - as with all of Charlotte's products, it looks very glam with the rose gold print against the white background, and I also love that it's a tube, so I'll be able to get every last drop out.

Magic Serum Crystal Elixir*: Regular readers will know that I have always advocated spending more money on your serum than on any other product in your skincare routine, as this is the product that works the hardest, by penetrating the skin, and gives the best results. You will also know that I'm not the hugest fan of anything with miracle or magic in its name, as it means that the product really has a lot to live up to, but sometimes, just sometimes, it does what it sets out to do.I like to layer my serums, but with this one, I don't have to, because it contains Vitamin C, Niacinaminde and Polyglutamic Acid (all of my favourite ingredients!), among others, including a replexium complex, which is a blend of peptides. It also contains a crystal complex of  rose and crystal quartz, amethyst, moonstone and ruby. It has a pipette dispenser, and the texture is somewhere between watery and creamy, yet it absorbs instantly and my skin feels so hydrated immediately. It isn't sticky and it layers well with other products, without pilling. This is a beautiful serum - it doesn't give the skin a fake, pearlescent look (which I don't like), it just gives it a natural 'lit from within' look and it definitely lives up to its name! I also don't think that I've ever had a more beautiful bottle of serum, but as I said above, all of her products are packaged beautifully!

Available from Charlotte Tilbury Ireland/UK, Arnotts, Brown Thomas, Cult Beauty and Feel Unique.
