3 treats for 3 budgets

3 treats for 3 budgets
The Foreo was kindly gifted to me, without obligation.

I feel like this past month has flown by, even though we are still in lockdown in Ireland. The restrictions were lifted from only being able to travel 5km from your house, to 20km, or anywhere within your own county, and it has made a big difference because since Christmas, I have only left my house for medical appointments. Non-essential retail is still closed, as are hair salons, restaurants etc, but we've been able to go to the beach (still too cold not to wear jeans though!), but I think that is what has helped this month fly by. So now it's pay day again and if you fancy treating yourself, I have three gorgeous products for three budgets!

Under £25: Vieve Eye Wand: I've been eyeing up (no pun intended) products from Vieve since its launch and decided I'd dip my toe in with these eye wands, because I'm all about the easy eye look these days. There are six shades available, and I bought Vanilla (to use as a base) and Camel, which is warm matte brown. These eye wands are vegan and cruelty-free, very pigmented and easy to apply and blend. I just run over my eye and then follow with a blending brush, but I find that they set quite quickly, so you have to act fast. Once set, they are pretty much budgeproof for the day, which is no mean feat on my oily lids. They have less slip than some other eyeshadow pencils I have used, however they are still creamy and easy to work with. You could use them as a base, before going in with a powder shadow, but I like using them alone because I don't spend very long doing my makeup these days! £21.

£25-50: Dior Forever Natural Nude Foundation: I really, really didn't need a new foundation, but I just loved the sound of a natural nude base and have loved any other Dior base I've tried. There are 17 shades available, and although I haven't seen them in the flesh, they seem to cover a wide spectrum. I chose 3N, as my skin really is more neutral than cool or warm, and it's pretty much perfect. The texture is very lightweight (I really don't notice that I'm wearing it), but the coverage is a solid medium, yet it still looks natural and very fresh - it makes the skin look pretty much flawless. A little goes a long way with this and I find that either a buffing brush or a beauty sponge to be the best methods of application. It glides over pores and fine lines, which I love. I can't say that it's completely transfer proof, as there is usually some on the inside of my mask, however that happens with most base products. It feels hydrating and is very long-lasting. It has a 24 hour claim, but I will never wear my makeup for 24 hours, so I can't attest to that, but I can say that this is a beautiful foundation, if you are looking for more than a tint, but don't want anything too heavy for summer. £39.

£50+: FOREO Luna 3 Plus Thermo Facial Brush with Microcurrents*: I was lucky enough to be sent this around 3 months ago, so I've been able to give it a good test before sharing my thoughts, as it's a pretty expensive tool. I personally prefer silicone facial tools, for hygiene purposes, and this one is extra special because not only does it deeply cleanse and massage the skin, it also heats, to elevate the whole experience. I do my first cleanse, which removes my makeup, and then I use a gel cleanser with the Foreo, to deeply cleanse my skin - this is probably why I have been favouring gel cleansers in recent months. On the reverse, you can massage the skin - this can be used alone, or with your favourite serum, to ensure deep penetration, before proceeding with the rest of your skincare regime. The device must be dry for this step. I think it would be impossible for your skin to ever be as clean as it is when using one of these devices, but I also love the massage action, as I like to use it in upwards motions to defy gravity. Yes it's an expensive product, but it will last for years (my previous one is still going - I've passed it on to a family member), so if budget allows, I highly recommend this. £219.

Will you be treating yourself this month or maybe you already have? I'd love to hear!
