My favourite discoveries of 2021, so far!

My favourite discoveries of 2021, so far!

I love to do a check in mid year to reflect on the new products that I have discovered so far, as the months can fly by and then when it comes to doing my annual favourite discoveries, I may overlook something from early in the year. I'm accepting less P.R. these days, as I hate waste and have a good idea of what will suit me, plus I'm buying a lot less and just focusing on using up the (rather large) stash that I have. If you watch my empties on Instastories, you'll see I'm doing a pretty good job in that regard! Now on to my favourite discoveries. Anything kindly gifted  (without obligation) will be marked with a *.

Dermalogica Melting Masque*: I've used this brand for around 18 years, and it just gets better and better with every release. This mask is the perfect antidote to dry, dull skin, as it's packed with ceramides and anti-inflammatory ingredients. It's a balm texture, which transforms into an oil when massaged into the skin. My skin has never felt as soft as when I use this mask - perfect for irritated skin, or if you've overdone the acids/retinol, or have just used a product that doesn't agree with your skin and has damaged your skin's barrier. Full review here. The only con is that the dispenser is quite stiff, so it's hard to get enough product out - or maybe I'm just a weakling!

IT Cosmetics Confidence In A Gel Lotion Moisturiser*: I honestly never really believed that I could be transformed from a rich, creamy moisturiser person, so.a lotion one, but this product has blown me away! It's packed with ceramides, peptides and hyaluronic acid, so it is super nourishing, yet it isn't at all heavy or greasy, so I think that all skin types will love it. Again, it's the perfect product for irritated, flaky skin, because it soothes it instantly, and the bonus is that it also works really well as a primer - the perfect product for travelling! I've been using it for a few months now and am almost finished, but it will be a definite repurchase!

Summer Fridays AHA Soft Reset AHA: I use a lot of chemical exfoliators, but I don't know if any can beat this one (it's definitely us there with P50, in my opinion).  This contains 16% AHAs, so I wouldn't necessarily recommend it to those who are new to acids. However, to balance the AHAs, it contains glycerin, aloe, niacinamide and sodium hyaluronate. The texture is unlike other acid toners, as it's slightly thicker, however I still use a hydrating mist afterwards. With consistent use, this will give you the smoothest skin of your life and it is 100% worth the £49 price tag.

Marc Jacobs At Lash'd Lengthening and Curling Mascara: I've mentioned this mascara a lot recently, and with good reason! My lashes have never looked so long or curly with any other mascara, plus it doesn't flake, smudge or give. crispy lashes. It's also easy to remove - the perfect mascara?

DIOR Forever Natura Nude Foundation: I reviewed this foundation here, and I just can't stop using it! It gives the skin a really healthy look, but also looks very natural - basically like you have perfect skin and that you eat your greens and drink lots of water! The coverage is medium, but could be sheered out and the wear-time is excellent. If there's one thing that DIOR does well (and there are many, I'm sure), it's foundation.

By Terry Hyaluronic Hydra Concealer:  This is the ideal concealer for anyone who is beginning to notice fine lines, or that their makeup is not sitting as nicely in the under eye area, as the formula contains 87% skincare, so it really is a 2-in-1 product. It doesn't settle into fine lines and gives medium coverage. What I also love is that it can be used on blemishes as well as the under-eye area - perfect for very minimal makeup days. BECCA Light Shifter Dewy Tinted Moisturiser:  I'm honestly gutted that this brand is ceasing to trade in September, as they do glowing skin products like no other. This tinted moisturiser blurs the appearance of pores, but it also give the skin a plump look, thanks to the hyaluronic acid, squalane and vitamin E that it contains. It doesn't give the skin a discoball look, however it definitely brings the glow. It's the perfect summer base, and can be applied with fingers, for a quick makeup look. Aerin Hibiscus Palm Eau De Parfum:  A beautiful summer scent, that combines notes of vanilla, coconut milk, musk, hibiscus palm and lotus flower. They create a warm, yet not overpowering, scent that transports me to a warm, balmy evening on an island - the closest I'll get this year! It also lasts really well on the skin - a good 6/7 hours. Charlotte Tilbury Super Radiance Resurfacing Facial*: I didn't expect to like this product as much as I do, but I look forward to using it (weekly) because it leaves my skin so smooth. It contains a 15% AHA, PHA and BHA blend, balanced by a blend of aloe vera, avocado oil, hyaluronic acid and polyglutamic acid, among other hydrating ingredients. I apply it to clean, dry skin and leave it to work for 20 minutes, before rinsing thoroughly to find my skin feeling super soft and smooth, with refined pores and looking radiant. It's the perfect product for busy people as once a week use is ideal.

Olaplex No. 8 Bond Intense Moisture Mask: A 4-in-1 mask, which softens, strengthens, restores and repairs the bonds of the hair. I find that even just leaving it on my hair for 10 minutes, will transform my hair into a smooth, sleek, glossy and elasticized mane! I use it once a week and it has made a huge difference to the health of my hair - even my hairdresser has commented on it. I use two pumps on my hair, which is midway down my back, so a bottle should last quite a while. If you have coloured, brittle, frizzy, broken hair - you need to try this!

Redken One-United Multi Benefit Treatment: One product - 25 benefits - what's not to love? This product doesn't weigh the hair down at all, yet it helps to detangle, strengthen, add shine and add heat protection, among other benefits. It's a recent discovery but will be a constant repurchase!

Have you tried any of these products? If I had to ask you to choose only one favourite discovery from 2021, so far, what would it be? I'd love to hear!
