Review & Swatches: Charlotte Tilbury Lighgasm Face Palette

Review & Swatches: Charlotte Tilbury Lighgasm Face Palette

Unless you've been hiding under a rock, you will have seen that Charlotte Tilbury launched a range of GlowGasm products in recent weeks. There are two face palettes, three beauty wands, an eyeshadow quad and two cream eyeshadows. If I won the lotto, I'd buy everything but because I haven't, I settled on buying one cream eyeshadow in the shade Rose Gold and the lighter of the two face palettes: LightGasm. I assumed that LoveGasm would be too dark for my skin but the more swatches I see, the more I realise that it would have worked for me. In any case, I am happy with what I bought and have really been enjoying using it over the past few weeks.

I love that the packaging is different from other Charlotte Tilbury products - a real departure from her usual burgundy and rose gold packaging. The CT logo is in the middle of the lid with a starburst design and the underlay consists of pastel shades over the outline of an eye and lips. It's eye-catching without being garish and it feels sturdy. Inside the lid is a full sized mirror, which is perfect for topping up makeup on the go.

Swatches are completely unedited.

There are four powder products inside: a highlighter, glow powder, blush and bronzer, all with embossing that I really don't want to disappear! The texture is almost like a gel powder, which means that they apply very smoothly. It's almost like the powder stretches in the same way that her Magic Concealer does - rather than sit on the skin, it melts into it so it doesn't look like a lot of product is on the skin and I also find that the products don't highlight texture, which isn't always the case with products that contain shimmer.

The highlighter is a beautiful champagne/light gold shade, which is quite pigmented but with a light hand, it's suitable for daytime wear.

The second highlighter is rose gold and this can be used on the eyes, as a standalone highlighter or as a blush topper. It has the same beautifully soft texture as the first highlighter.

The blush is a pink with a fine gold shimmer running through it. It reminds me of Nars Orgasm, which is the only blush that I have ever repurchased. I know that some people aren't keen on shimmer in blushes but if shimmer isn't your thing, this palette isn't for you. I really like this blush and find that it's important that I use a light hand with it as it's so pigmented.

The bronzer is matte, but not flat. It's a very neutral medium bronze shade and is the least pigmented of the four powders, but I like that as it's buildable and a very natural sunkissed look can be achieved with  it.

The four shades work so well together and the texture of the powders is so easy to work with - there's no risk of muddiness or patchiness with the soft formula of these. I'll definitely be taking this on holiday next month because I haven't stopped using it since I bought t and I can't see that changing any time soon.

It's expensive at £60/75, but I expect no less from this luxury beauty brand. If you have an upcoming birthday or celebration, this would be the perfect wish list product. I can't imagine anyone being disappointed by this palette!
