Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencils - the comfortable, long-lasting lip option.

Although I am a gloss girl at heart, I definitely gravitate towards matte lip options in Autumn and Winter. Matte lips don't have to mean dry, flat, lined lips - things have come a long way since the days of uncomfortable, drying lip products. Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencils are a great option for those who are scared of full-on matte lips as they have a velvet matte finish, which is more flattering and comfortable. 

I love how easy Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencils are to apply and the pencil also means that using a separate lip liner isn't necessary. They are seriously pigmented - one swipe and you're good to go! I'd also go as far as to say that they are the longest lasting lip product that I own. I've often eaten burgers or pizza and had a few drinks and these pencils won't have budged. I sometimes have to remove them at the end of the day as they will still be on my lips - I use an oil cleanser or cleansing balm for this. I really love that they are non-drying and they don't exasperate any lines or dry patches on my lips.

At £21 each, they aren't the cheapest lip product but they last for a really long time because one swipe is all that's needed for hours of coverage. There are some sets available at the moment that are amazing value - one that contains four lip pencils for £46, which is a massive saving of £37, and a set of two for only £23, which is a massive saving of £19. Both of those sets are available from Cult Beauty, however Look Fantastic, Debenhams and Feel Unique also stock Nars.

I have five shades:

Red Square: Orange-toned red. 

Dolce Vita: Warm rose.

Dragon Girl: True blue-toned red.

Cruella: Neutral red.

Damned: Cool berry.

Given that I am someone who doesn't wear a red lip very often outside of the festive season, the fact that I have three shades of red is a testament to how much I love these lip pencils. They are just so easy to use and comfortable! Also, long-lasting lip colours are perfect for the festive season for long days, long nights - or both!
