Chanel Coco Mademoiselle is one of my favourite fragrances - crisp, sparkling and unashamedly feminine, I just love it! Naturally, when I saw a new take on this classic, I had to try it. Enter Chanel Coco Mademoiselle Crush Absolu...
The original Coco Mademoiselle is suitable for wear at any time, day or night and regardless of season - it really is a classic. It contains citrus notes of orange, mandarin and bergamot, alongside floral notes of turkish rose, ylang ylang, jasmine and mimosa on a base of patchouli, musk, vanilla, tonka bean and vetiver. It may sound like a heady bunch of notes but they are perfectly balanced to create a fragrance that isn't too sharp nor too sweet - sparkling, feminine and timeless.
Coco Mademoiselle Crush Absolu is perfect for the colder months. The top notes of orange and bergamot in the original have been replaced with lychee and grapefruit and the base is a simpler mix of patchouli, vanilla and vetiver. It's sweet without being cloying, still feminine but also leans a bit masculine, slightly spicy and very warm/ambery.
It's a very sensual fragrance and really is perfect for the upcoming party season but will equally work well during the day in the colder months. I find that it lasts a good 8 hours on my skin and will linger longer on clothes.
I'm hoping that Crush Absolu isn't limited edition because I love it and know that I will use every last drop. I wish I had bought a 100ml bottle - might be one for the Christmas wishlist!
